  • Social InteractionDefinition

    is a dynamic, changing sequence of social actions between individuals (or groups) who modify their actions and reactions according to the actions by their interaction partner(s). Purposes

    1. Building the friendship2. Building the business relationship3. Discussing the problems4. CooperationThe process of social interaction can be direct or indirect.

    not planned and likely not repeated. For example, asking a stranger for directions or shopkeeper for product availability. In sociology, social actions refer to any action that takes into account the actions and reactions of other individuals and is modified based on those events. Social action is a concept developed by Max Weber that explores interaction between humans in society.

    Latin: con or com and tangerecon or com means together, andtangere means touch.So, contact means touching together.

    Definition of Social Contact

    Social contact is a pair of social actions with no further consequence - i.e. it is not likely to be repeated. It can sometimes be described as an accidental social interaction. An example would be a failed and not-repeated attempt/ effort to start a conversation.

    Latin communicate means to relate. Communication concern to relate or interact with the other people. Communicator is the people (s) who convey the message. Verbal is the direct communication by verbs. Non Verbalis the indirect communication by notes or pictures.

  • The Patterns of Social InteractionInterpersonal Interaction

    It happens when a person gives the influence, stimulant. And the other one gives reactions according to the action by their interaction partner(s). Interaction of Individual toward Group

    Individual as a motivator and gives an inspiration. A person will relate with a group of peoples.Inter-group Interaction

    A group of people will relate, communicate or give their actions and an influence, and the other group give reactions according to the action by their interaction group.

  • The Forms of Social Interaction(Gillin and Gillin)Processes of Association

    is a process to integrate the other person/ groups interest or opinion to reach their aim.

    Cooperation means the interpersonal efforts or groups to achieve their goals.Accommodationmeans the process to solve a conflict between the individual or groups based on values and norms to achieve the stability.AssimilationMeans an effort to reduce the interpersonal or groups variety based on societys interests and goals.

    Acculturationmeans the effort to integrity the different culture without reducing its characteristics.

    Processes of Disassociation

    is a process to separate or opposite the other person/ groups interest or opinion to reach their aim.

    Competitionmeans an effort to achieve the personal or groups goal supportively/ fair play. Contraventionmeans a social process between the competition and conflict because of disappointed and uncertain condition. Conflictmeans an effort to achieve the personal or groups goal that affected by the opinion or interests diversity.

  • The Determinants of Social InteractionImitation, means an individual action or group to behave like others.Suggestion, means a process to accept another persons sight or attitude without any consideration. Identification, means an individual action or group to have the same behavior. Sympathy, means a process that individual feels interest with the other. Motivation, means a process to motivate the other to do an action.Emphatic, means the individuals sympathy deeply.
