Classic Lines is Pittsburgh’s largest general purpose independent bookstore. On our own and with our partners we do over 50 author events per year. Our current plan is to increase the number of events to 75 per year. The events range in audience size from 20 to 1,700 attendees. In the past 12 months 35 events were ticketed. 12 of the 35 events were book and ticket bundles. Classic Lines is a NYT reporting store.
Classic Lines is located in the Squirrel Hill neighbor-hood of Pittsburgh. We are approximately 25 miles from Pittsburgh International Airport, with easy access to the Amtrak station and the PA Turnpike. We are happy to assist in making transportation and accommodation arrangements.
Approximately 36,000 residents live within 3 miles of Classic Lines
43% of Squirrel Hill residents have a graduate or professional degree.

We have become the “go to” bookstore for events throughout the city. We receive 2 to 3 requests per month from new organizations to sell books at their events.
For every author event, in addition to the newest title, we sell a full range of backlist titles. At events where the audience size is over 1,000 we create a Pop-Up store where we offer over 75 to 100 related and previous event titles. Starting in the fall of 2017 we plan to set aside 20% of the Pop-Up store space to feature other new titles from the author’s publisher.
