June On June 20, three CNPC employees, Jin Fengming from Huabei Oilfield, Feng Zhiqiang from Daqing Oilfield and Tian Jun from Tarim Oilfield, won the Huang Jiqing Youth Geological Science and Technology Award.

On June 28, Yang Hua from Changqing Oilfield and Zou Caineng from the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development won the title of “Field Geological Worker” and “Geology Science Researcher” of the Li Siguang Geological Science Award, respectively.

In April, PetroChina Company Limited once again ranked first in the Asian Competitiveness by the Research Institute of the Boao Forum for Asia.

On March 27, CNPC Daqing Oilfield and Lanzhou Petrochemical won the National Afforestation Award of “Outstanding Afforestation Contributor”.

In May, CNPC Bureau of Geophysical Prospecting (BGP) was awarded the “Cup Trophy of Safety and Health in China” by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the State Administration of Work Safety.

On February 1, CNPC topped the list for the third consecutive year in the assessment of websites of Central Enterprises carried out by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. The company was also classified as a Grade A enterprise in terms of informationization for the third consecutive year.

In February, CNPC won three first prizes and six second prizes in the 18th State-level Enterprise Modernization Management Innovation Assessment, which was the best level among large enterprises nationwide.

On January 8, the CNPC Commendation Meeting for Overseas Oil and Gas Cooperation was held in Beijing. The All-China Federation of Trade Unions awarded 15 units including PetroChina International (Indonesia) National May 1st Labor Certificates. 30 units including the GW1205 Drilling Crew from CNPC Daqing Oilfield Drilling Engineering Company were awarded the “National Worker Pioneer” title; and 20 employees including Xu Zhiqiang from CNPC Kazakhstan Company were awarded National May 1st Labor Medals. Three teams including CNPC Rumaila Project Team and five employees including Lu Jing from CNODC were granted the title of “National Youth Pioneer” and “National Youth Experts” by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, respectively. Four female employees including Yang Guirong from CNPC Kazakhstan Company and three units including the refining lab of CNPC International (Chad) were granted the title of “National March-8th Red-Banner Pacesetter” and “National March-Eighth Red-Banner Pacesetter Collective” by the All-China Women's Federation, respectively.

On July 16, 10 QC achievements made by China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP) won the National Excellent Quality Management Award.

On July 19, Wang Dong from Liaohe Oilfield won the title of “National Hero of Bravery and Courage” and Su Jianning from Changqing Oilfield won the title of “National Model of Bravery and Courage”.

In July, PetroChina Company Limited won the prize of “The Most Respected Company” and “The Best Chinese Company” among Asian public companies in 2012 from Institutional Investor.

In August, the Lixin-Bozhou pipeline project undertaken by No.3 Engineering Branch Company of CPP won the “National Excellent Welding Project Award”.

September On September 12, CNPC Corporate Culture Department, Tuha Oilfield, Xinjiang Marketing Company, Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company (Turkmenistan), Daqing Refining & Petrochemical Complex and Lanzhou Petrochemical Company were granted the title of “Excellent Central Enterprises on Corporate Culture”. Seven employees were granted the title of “Excellent Corporate Cultural Workers in Central Enterprises”.

On September 25, PetroChina, CNPC’s holding company, topped the list of DIB’s Internal Control Index of Chinese Public Companies and Chairman Jiang Jiemin won the honor of “DIB’s Excellent Leader on Internal Control in a Chinese Public Company”.

On September 25, the application of the CNPC Factory EPC management model in engineering construction in the petrochemical industry won the Second Prize in the Second National Management Modernization Innovation Competition.

On September 28, “The Application of Spiral Welding Seam Defects Inspection and Evaluation Skills” by PetroChina Pipeline Company (Pipeline Marketing Company) won the “Global Pipeline Award” presented by the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME).

October On October 15, four CNPC employees including Zhao Xianzheng from Huabei Oilfield won the 21st Grand Energy Prize from the Sun Yueqi Science and Education Foundation, and 20 employees including Zhang Jinquan from CPP won the Excellent Youth Science and Technology Award.

On October 29, Professor Dou Lirong from CNODC won the Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation.

On October 31, Booz & Company published the 2011 Global Innovation 1000 list. PetroChina was the only Chinese company ranking among the top 100 on the list.

On November 5, Lanzhou Petrochemical was granted the honor of “National Outstanding Company in Applying an Excellent Performance Evaluation Model” by the China Association for Quality.

On November 9, Wei Yuxiang, President of the PK project of CNPC Kazakhstan Company, won the Medal for Contributing to Kazakhstan Oil and Gas International Cooperation.

On November 13, the Standardization and Modulization Construction Technology submitted by Changqing Oilfield won a gold prize at the Seventh International Invention Exhibition.

On November 23, Jilin Oilfield, and No.3 and No.4 Oil Production Plants of Daqing Oilfield won the title of “National Outstanding Energy Conservation Collective”; the HSE Department of Jilin Petrochemical and the Industrial Water Work Plant of Karamay Petrochemical won the title of “National Outstanding Emission Reduction Collective”; and Huang Xinmei from Dushanzi Petrochemical was granted the honor of “National Outstanding Individual on Emission Reduction”.

On December 4, the CNPC Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2011 won two special honors: Golden Bee 2012 Excellent CSR Report ·Leading Enterprise and the Evergreen Award.

On December 8, Sun Qingxian, an operator at the Polyethylene Plant of Lanzhou Petrochemical, won the “Chinese Skill Award”; five employees including Ren Xiangcai from Daqing Oilfield won the title of “National Skill Master”; Xinjiang Oilfield won the “Award for Outstanding Contributor on Skill Training”; and Dong Liuzhai from China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation also won the “Award for Outstanding Contributor on Skill Training” as an individual.

On December 18, CNPC won the top prize of China Women Philanthropy — Model Award.

On December 23, CNPC was granted the title of “Outstanding Contributor to the New Great Wall Education Poverty-Reduction Program” by China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation.

On December 24, CNPC was granted the title of “Excellent Partner” by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
