Greetings! Namasthe! Aadab!!

We at PRAVINYA always feel that teaching is a very noble profession and the most important foundation for the society.

We are living in the digital age. All around us, children are observing and quietly learning from the audio-visual media namely phones, TVs, movies

and others. Thus, Digital education is only an extension of the dramatic impact of the audio-visual education that children today are already exposed

to.

Components of Social studies can be taught using different types of teaching material and methods. Keeping in view, PRAVINYA brings you 109

modules and Quizzes for 54 lessons in this year. The detailed lesson-wise index is provided for you to refer.

In the Lessons Index, you can locate the class of your choice, Unit which you wish to teach, all the modules linked to that unit, its source,

type of content – whether it is video content or interactive content and if it is video content then its duration. These details help you to

plan for your lesson using the digital tools.

SCERT Lessons

Video lessons created by SCERT offer lectures with the help of graphics and some animation. Lectures

are delivered by subject matter experts. Therefore, students and teachers get the opportunity to hear

the lecture and see the visuals provided for retention of the concept.

SIET lessons

SIET has developed videos using a class-room setting where a teacher conducts a class to students. The

teacher conducts the class as per a lesson plan. The teaching is interactive where in the teachers and

students engage in discussion.

Although the videos provide passive learning, they are very useful to students as they replicate a regular

class-room setting.

Some of the videos created by SIET do not directly relate to any lesson but are very good for general

awareness of students. Teachers may choose to encourage students to view these videos during leisure

periods.

Teachers

K. Suresh Sir from Social, School Assistant, ZPHS(Boys), Srikalahasti, Chittoor has created several videos

in Social Studies from classes 6th to 10th. Concepts are presented as per a lesson plan using different tools

such as images, text and graphics. Each lesson is presented in a visual format. Some lessons have audio but

some may not have audio. Quiz is included in some of the lessons.

PRAVINYA has developed lessons in social as per the curriculum prescribed by SCERT. Activities suggested

are also shown in the videos. Some of the Social studies lessons are in Telugu whereas some are in English

medium
