The  consumer  for  this  product  would  be  anyone  who  has  to  do  Laundry,  which  is  everyone.

Instead  of  having  to  walk  to  the  laundry  room  here  on  campus  in  the  dorms,  one  could  have  a  hamper  that  automaLcally  sterilized  and  cleaned  the  clothes.  Once  the  dirty  clothes  were  put  it,  a  powerful  UV  light    would  sterilize  the  clothes.  This  would  only  work  for  clothes  that  aren’t  completely  soiled.    This  would  also  be  convenient  because  clothes  would  be  cleaned  immediately.

Needs

I  began  thinking  about  this  when  I  never  get  to  the  laundry  room  first  here  in  my  dorm,  I  knew  there  had  to  be  a  beRer  way.  I  also  hate  when  I  wear,  for  example,  my  work  out  clothes  to  the  rec,  and  then  the  next  day,  I  want  to  wear  the  same  shorts  and  I  can’t  because  they  are  dirty.  I  also  don’t  want  to  do  a  whole  load  of  laundry  for  one  pair  of  shorts.

Page 6: Soft Innovations Part 2

Resources

This  product  would  need  to  be  manufactured  and  would  need  a  UV  light  sterilizer  tube  for  the  clothes  to  be  deposited  into.  One  would  also  need  a  place  to  store  this  item,  but  it  would  as  easy  as  storing  a  laundry  hamper  as  they  normally  would.

You’ve  got  an  8  am  on  Friday  morning  and  you  know  that  no  maRer  how  many  alarms  you  set,  you  just  won’t  get  up

because  you  were  out  to  late  last  night.  Well,  instead  of  se6ng  your  phone  alarm  that  has  a  snooze  buRon  that

you  will  hit  many  Lmes,  you  need  a  “Lamp  Alarm  Clock”  to  get  you  up  on  Lme.  It  will  shine  a  bright  light  on  your  face  so  that  it  simulates  the  sun  and  your  body  recognizes  it  as

morning  and  wakes  you  up.  It  can  also  have  sound  associated  with  it  as  well,  but  more  of  a  peaceful  “morning”  type  of  essence.  But  it  would  have  a

randomized  sound  every  morning  that  way  your  body  doesn’t  program  itself  to  only  hear  that  one  sound  every

morning,  and  choose  to  ignore  it.

               Lamp  Alarm  Clock  Narrative

I  came  up  with  this  when  I  started  thinking  of  processes  that  need  to  be  improved.  I  began  with  my  daily  rouLne  and  started

making  a  list.  The  first  thing  on  my  list  was  “waking  up.”  Then  it  hit  me  that  there  must

be  a  beRer  way  of  ge6ng  up  in  the  morning.  Then  my  idea  started  developing  and  I  had

the  “Aha!”  moment  because  I  knew  that  the  same  rouLne  I’ve  been  following  has  not

been  working  very  well.

The  product  would  need  to  be  manufactured  and  would  be  made  from  plasLc  and  would  need  a  light  bulb  (sold  separately)  and  could  either  run  off  rechargeable  baReries  or  be

plugged  in  to  the  wall.

 Getting  into  a  Car  Narrative

Instead  of  having  to  go  through  the  rouLne  of  opening  a  door  and  then  configuring  your  body  to  get  into  a  car,  you  would  simply  have  to  press  a  buRon  on  your  keys  (or  buRons  for  mulLple  passengers)  and  the  chair(s)  would  eject  slowly  out  from  the  sides  of  the  car  (where  the  doors  would  normally  be)  and  could  be  pre-‐adjusted  in  height  so  it  is  the  most  comfortable  for  you.  Also  when  you  arrive  at  your  desLnaLon,  you  would  simply  have  to  press  the  buRon  again.

Page 17: Soft Innovations Part 2

 Needs

For  some  people,  it  is  very  difficult  to  get  in  and  out  of  their  car  because  it  is  too  low,  or  too  high.  Also,  when  parked  in  a  Lght  spot,  it  is  oben  hard  to  open  the  door  to  get  in.

Page 18: Soft Innovations Part 2

 Resources

When  building  a  car,  this  would  have  to  be  programmed  into  the  vehicles  technology.  This  would  require  many  tests  and  many  technological  developments.  Parking  spots  also  might  have  to  be  widened  to  compensate.

 Upside  Down  Waffle/  Pancake  Narrative

Normally,  one  has  to  fight  with  the  buRer  or  peanut  buRer,  or  jam,  or  whatever  one  wants  to  put  on  a  waffle/pancake  to  actually  stay  on  the  waffle  pancake  without  making  a  mess  or  having  a  ton  of  it  leb  on  the  knife  or  fork.  By  changing  the  process  to  pu6ng  the  fixin’s  on  the  plate  first,  it  is  easy  to  just  simply  place  the  waffle/  pancake  on  top  of  it  and  not  having  to  struggle  to  get  all  of  the  buRer  off  the  knife  in  the  grooves  of  the  waffle  or  tearing  apart  the  pancake.

Page 23: Soft Innovations Part 2

 Needs

I  always  tear  up  my  waffles  and  pancakes  trying  to  put  buRer  on  them,  and  then  it  hit  me  one  day  at  Sbisa,  why  not  put  all  the  stuff  on  the  plate  first,  and  then  put  the  waffle/pancake  on  top?  It’s  the  same  flavor,  just  a  sort  of  “upside  down.”

Page 24: Soft Innovations Part 2

 Resources

One  would  only  need  a  plate,  a  fork,  a  knife,  a  waffle/  pancake,  and  what  ever  toppings  (now  boRomings)    you  want.
