STiC™ Frequently Asked Questions

What is STiC™? SoftSol Testing in Cloud (STiC™) is a new dimension of software testing services. Completely leveraging our virtualization technology, years of experience, and deep insights into the test engineering process, STiC enables us to deliver highly optimized and streamlined processes in every possible area of test engineering. Do I need to buy any software licenses to use STiC™? No, that is the true advantage of testing as a service (TaaS) via cloud. You don’t need to waste your time procuring software licenses, paying yearly licensing fees, and installing and configuring your QA IT effort. You can leverage prebuilt accelerators on the fly and on demand for packaged apps, automation assets, process assets, and for pre-installed and configured test environments. Do you support manual testing as well? Yes, we understand that it is not necessary to automate all your test cases, so we run manual and automation test cases as well. Who will run my test cases? Our career test engineers, who are certified in both manual and automation tools, will run all your test cases and test scripts as per your requirements. Where do my test assets (requirements, test cases, test scripts, test data, test results, test metrics, etc.) reside? Your entire test assets reside in your account in a cloud environment. Who owns my test assets if I decide to stop using STiC™? You always own the test assets we create for you as part of our STiC™ service offering. You can get copies of all your test assets by importing them to your local test environments where you can store, run, and maintain them. Can I migrate from an existing tool to another tool in STiC™? Yes, our framework and methodologies are tool agnoSTiC™ and we specifically designed our STiC™ tool kit to support bidirectional integration. You can always migrate from your existing tool, be it test management (QC, Jira, Bugzilla, etc.) or test execution (QTP, Selenium, etc.), to our STiC™ tool kit.

What tools do you support? You name it, we do it. Currently we have a huge repository of prebuilt test accelerators, automation libraries and multiple frameworks developed for QTP, Selenium, Sahi, Renorex, Silk, HP ALM, Bugzilla, Jira, and more. Do you test applications in multiple environments? Yes, we run manual and automation suites based on your release cycles on demand, and in the environment of your choice. We have a huge repository of preconfigured test environments ready at your disposal which we can provision and de-provision on the fly. All you need to do is just let us know what portion of your test suite needs to be run in which test environments. We run all the tests on demand and results are at your disposal. I have requirements and test cases in our test management tool (e.g., QC), how do you manage them? We have a couple options for this situation:

You can export your test assets into our free test management Tool STeM™ (SoftSol Test Management Tool) which comfortably integrates with all leading commercial and open source test management tools.

You can give us access to your test management tool (which we will access from your cloud account), and we run the test cases and log results back into your test management tool (both manual and automation results).
