introduction Do you know what lies in space? How many moons we have? What are the inner planets? What are the outer planets? What are comets, and meteoroids? And lots more!!

all this will be answered!!!!!!!!!.

What do the astronomers use to see space Astronomers use lot’s of tools to look in space to

study it. What do you think they are? 1. the tool is called a optical telescope. A optical

telescope is telescope that collects light waves, to make things that are very far away appear very close.

2. the tool is a radio telescope. A radio telescope is a telescope that collets radio waves, scientist use a computer for the optical telescope to learn things about the objects in space.

3. the tool is a space probe. A space probe is a space craft sent into space to explore things, these things collect things from space like rocks, plus they sent information back to home.

What is our solar system The solar system is as simple as this, it

is the sun and everything that circles it. Orbiting and rotating is very important

in the solar system. Orbit: to circle something. Rotate: to spin like a washing machine. It takes earth 24 hours to rotate once, and 365 (one year) days to orbit

Gravity is the force that pulls us down

Page 5: Solar system

The moon The moon is earths partner in space. Phases: phases are the moons shapes. Crescent moon: when the moon looks

like an eyelash it is called a crescent moon.

Full moon: when the moon is a complete circle it is called a full moon.

The inner planets

Page 7: Solar system

mercury Mercury is the closest planet to the sun.

it is the smallest of the inner planet’s, not the entire solar system.

Mercury’s atmosphere is very thin. During the day mercury is so hot, at

night it is cold.

Page 8: Solar system

Venus The second planet from the sun is

Venus. Venus is earth’s closest neighbor and about the same size.

Venus has yellow-white clouds of acid, this keeps Venus even hotter then mercury

Page 9: Solar system

earth The third planet from the sun. it is the

only planet that has life.

Page 10: Solar system

mars The next planet beyond earth is mars.

Mars is the last inner planet. Mars’s has lot’s of landform’s.

Mar’s has two moons’ while the rest of the inner planets have 1

Outer planets

Page 12: Solar system

Jupiter Jupiter is the first outer planet. Jupiter is the largest planet in the entire

solar system, more then a thousand earths can fit in there.

Jupiter has 16 moons

Page 13: Solar system

Saturn Saturn is almost as big as Jupiter. It has large beautiful rings. It has 18 moons

Page 14: Solar system

Uranus Uranus looks blue green acids. It has 15 moons

Page 15: Solar system

Neptune Neptune is blue, has rings, and has 8

moons

Page 16: Solar system

Pluto Pluto is the last outer planet. It is a dwarf planet. It is the coldest planet ever, because it

is very far away from the sun.

Comets, asteroids, meteoroids Comets are icy objects that orbit the sun

in long paths shaped like ovals. Asteroids are huge pieces of rock or

metal that orbit the sun Meteoroids are broken pieces of

asteroids or comets
