Key Strengths:
WHAT ARE COMMUNITY PARTNERS?
Community Partners partner with Soldiers’ Angels to help us provide support to military families, wounded warriors,
deployed service members and veterans.
Community partners are often civic groups, businesses, churches, schools, scouts, sororities and youth groups who
have a desire to serve military families through Soldiers’ Angels.
In order for our organization to keep overhead low, we rely heavily on our volunteers and community partners.
Community partnerships are renewed each year and run from Jan 1 – Dec 31 of that year.
Community partners will be featured in a special section on our website.
INTERESTED IN BECOMING A COMMUNITY PARTNER? You can become a community partner in one or more of the following ways:
1. By setting up a collection drive at your school, church, or business to collect old cell phones, iPods, printer
cartridges, and other items to send to Funding Factory for recycling.
The link below contains a list of items eligible for collection for this program:
http://www.fundingfactory.com/programs/recycling/qualifying_items.aspx
A group must set a goal and collect a minimum of 20 items to be considered a community partner. Once the
collection drive is completed and at least 20 items have been collected, they can be sent to the Funding
Factory directly.
Please click the link below to print a pre-paid mailing label to send items to the Funding Factory.

2. Organize a collection drive and collect items on Soldiers’ Angels wish list.
Collect at least 50 items from the wish list. Once collected, contact Soldiers’ Angels to
receive an address to mail the items. Do not ship them to the headquarters in San
Antonio, unless advised by the staff to do so.
These items are used in care packages, hygiene kits, sack lunches for homeless vets and
to stock VA snack bars.
3. Collect monetary donations. It costs Soldiers’ Angels approximately $15 to mail each care
package and $45 to stuff and mail a care package. Community partners can organize
fundraisers to collect monetary donations to offset the costs of mailing and stuffing these
packages.
To be a community partner, groups are asked to raise a minimum of $150 from monetary
collections during the calendar year in which the group is participating.
Churches often take special offerings, schools and other groups often do coin
collections, car washes, bake sales and other events to raise funds for Soldiers’ Angels!
