This curriculum resulted from what we heard from our players. “We want to play!” This class guarantees at least 30 minutes of game play against their peers. Instruction will be split throughout the class and only where needed. Players will be given the freedom to learn and expand on their game and provided the opportunity to have a coach to answer questions and give individual guidance.

Chess Enrichment By Chess-Ed WED | $205 Grades 1—8

Chess Enrichment is an exciting and fun program for learning and playing the "sport of the mind" CHESS. Professional instruction will be provided at each class period, followed by an opportunity to play the game and practice the skills being taught. Each student has the opportunity to move to a new level of expertise. Studies continue to confirm that the student that studies and plays chess does better academically because of the skills learned through the sport. Girl Power Yoga By Mission Propelle MON | $195 Grades 1—5

Mission Propelle empowers girls in elementary school to discover who they are, what they believe, and how to advocate for themselves. We accom-plish this through an after-school program that combines yoga, reading, and mentoring. In each one-hour class, girls develop mindfulness and self-confidence as they practice yoga. They learn how to solve problems by reading original storybooks starring Dottie Tov, a relatable and age-aligned female protagonist. Throughout class, girls learn to apply leadership skills in their everyday lives as they receive situation-based mentorship from trained instructors.

Chess-Ed, the premier chess enrichment company in the Chicagoland area will provide professional instruction to Solomon Elementary School students with its staff of United States Chess Federation certified teachers and coaches. The instruction is geared to help each student achieve a new level of expertise. We will offer opportunities for the beginner, continuing student and advanced players, plus those that want to represent Solomon in tournaments for both the city and state events. We will cover the basics and reach beyond into tactics and strategies, opening game theory, middle game ideas, and endgame combinations.
