solution milcloud 2 - bringing government and industry
TRANSCRIPT
CSRA is providing milCloud® 2.0 services to DoD customers under Contract HC102817D0004. milCloud® and the milCloud® logo are registered trademarks owned by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
Opportunity
milCloud® 2.0, Powered by CSRA, connects commercial
cloud service offerings to Department of Defense (DoD)
networks, in a private deployment model to provide DISA
mission partners the latest cloud technology at competitive
prices without compromising security or performance.
milCloud® 2.0 enables government organizations to
consolidate infrastructure while improving continuity of
operations; we focus on improved service, enhanced security,
and unmatched value.
Our milCloud® 2.0 architecture is highly available, scales
seamlessly, and protects highly sensitive applications
(initially authorized to DoD PA IL5 with plans for Impact
Level 6 - approval in process). Today’s application owners
need a variety of capabilities and offerings: IaaS, as well
as PaaS, SaaS, security services (e.g. host-based security,
continuous monitoring and scanning, intrusion protection,
etc.), and platforms designed for high-performance, data-
intensive applications, and automation which are currently
in the planning stages. Our milCloud® 2.0 offerings increase
the pace of innovations and allow Mission Partners to fully
manage workloads (e.g., provisioning, copying, cloning,
restoring) on demand using our cloud portal with real-
time visibility into contracting, billing, metering, and more.
Supporting our milCloud®
2.0 platform, we deliver
seamless transition
services (e.g. migration, application rationalization, mobile
development) so DISA partners can migrate to secure
cloud solutions without disrupting their critical missions
and leverage cloud capabilities to realize value in cost and
performance.
Ultimately, milCloud® 2.0 provides flexible infrastructure
hosting services tailored for sensitive government systems
with on-demand applications and self-service IT that
eliminate cost and complexity.

milCloud® 2.0 Solution Overview
Government organizations that provide for and protect our
citizens, like the DoD, must be able to innovate and operate
on flexible IT platforms specifically designed to adapt and
accelerate capability and deliver value
Technology milCloud® 2.0 provides an agile, secure, and cost effective
service environment that can rapidly respond to changing
mission needs. Orchestration and Business Management
capabilities provide a rich and fully capable IaaS customer
experience. Our robust monitoring and security tools
are integrated with dashboards to provide visibility to
authorized auditors. We plan to directly provide Security
as a Service offerings: suite of enterprise-level cloud
security and management services. Our accredited physical
architecture accommodates replication between two DISA
data centers enabling true High Availability and Disaster
Recovery.
ValueThe cost savings of migrating to our secure milCloud® 2.0
platform extends beyond server, storage, network and IT
administration labor. The true cost of operating government
computing environments includes often overlooked
expenses such as facility and infrastructure costs, the need to
continually update engineer certifications, the impact of non-
recoverable downtime, keeping up with government security
policy, asset management, vendor management and the cost
of capital. Instead of continuing to invest the time, skills and
technology in hosting solutions, milCloud® 2.0 will provide a
managed environment that allows IT budget owners to spend
less time building and supporting infrastructure, and more
time on new and innovative initiatives.
Easy to UseWith improved service levels, infrastructure agility and
increased security over many existing environments,
milCloud® 2.0 provides operational resilience with
continuous monitoring, updates, and upgrades. Not all
applications have the same complexity and criticality profile.
In-house platforms have limited flexibility in the underlying
infrastructure to tailor the availability and performance
attributes by application importance. CSRA provides high
performance computing and plan to incorporate evolving
security and platform services tailored to the needs of your
current and future IT strategy through a “pay-as-you-go”
catalog of IaaS. Our user-friendly portal allows authorized
government administrators to select and allocate tailored
environments that make infrastructure management simple:
“point and click” and you have an environment accredited
for use and scalable data center at your fingertips.
SecurityCSRA’s cloud architecture is designed from the ground up
to meet strict Federal Government and DoD information
security cloud requirements. Our system, network, and
boundary designs, as well as technologies and supporting
tools selected, were developed and deployed specifically
to meet the FedRAMP HIGH and DoD PA IL5/6 baselines of
security control requirements (approval in process). CSRA’s
cloud solutions provide additional (or reduced) performance
and storage access immediately to match infrastructure
capability to changing mission needs, are logically
centralized, use commodity components, and never rely on
single points of failure ensuring 99.9% availability.
