I think the answer is education. I’m not talking just about
schools, but how information on career paths, alternatives and
other opportunities are hidden from the masses, specifically
poor children.
We do need schools, better schools, an entirely different system
and set-up. Schools that are more like mini-universities with
open, community center layouts, where no more than 20% of
the time is spent learning the basics and the rest of the
curriculum is spent learning & exploring everything else. Where
fine arts and sciences are expanded in-depth so kids are familiar
with everything from astronomy to ballet to medicine to solar
energy to film production and everything in between.
I believe this will give young people a much broader world view
and with a broader world view than just “get a job at McDonald’s
and deal with it”, they will have greater ambitions and go
further.
We also need places where adults can learn about other career
paths and get some kind of outside-the-box training and job
placement in fields they would have never thought of.
We also need stricter laws on discrimination and a way to keep
businesses in check by monitoring employee demographics and
taking action when it becomes greatly unbalanced, or
instituting a national scale job placement agency* which puts
people into the jobs they are seeking, thus taking away the
power of the employer to discriminate.

Take a moment to think of why we’re
all so broke, poor, struggling to survive.
Where is the capital to change things?

Why not? Hold the 1% accountable for investing
in the rest of us. If they want this world for
themselves, they can’t have it with 50 million
being unemployed. Make the wealthiest reinvest
in society; things that benefit us on our level.
