Ready drainage pumps are ideal for contractors,industrial plants, utility companies, fire departments andcompanies in the rental business, to name just a few.

Made out of composite materials, to reduce the weight,and stainless steel, for strength and durability, Readypumps are considerably lighter than comparable pumpsof the same size and power capacity.

The pumps are made from composite materials andstainless steel, enabling operation in pH 3–9 andproviding high impact resistance.

This, together with Flygt’s unique motor, hydraulics,wear-resistant polyurethane linings and double sealingsystem, makes Ready pumps an excellent choice forhandling abrasive and corrosive liquids.

Available in two sizes, Ready pumps offer highperformance value in a cost-effective package, andthey can be purchased straight off the shelf and putto work immediately. Weighing just 9 kg and 11.5 kg,the pumps are light enough to be carried, and as theyare slim, compact and lightweight, Ready pumps canbe lowered into tight, cramped spaces.

With capacities up to 5.5 l/s and heads up to 14metres, Ready pumps are a perfect example of theoperational reliability and durability for which Flygtpumps are renowned, and will guarantee fast anddependable drainage.

Dewatering pumps 1–90 kW

Flygt Bibo, the original submersible pump, is designedspecially for tough operating conditions. The pumpsare ideal for applications in which the water or liquidcontains high amounts of clay, stone chips, drillingfines etc., or to pump heavy sediment from tanks,sumps and containers.

This series of large dewatering pumps is available inthree casing materials: light-weight aluminium forheavy construction work and mines, hard-wearing castiron for corrosive or saltwater applications andstainless steel for additional corrosion protection. They are also available in explosion proof versions.

Flygt Bibo pumps can be fitted with a multi-vane,open or semi-open channel impeller. The pump’simpeller and component parts also come in a range ofmaterials to suit the application. All majorcomponents subjected to wear, are fitted with nitrilerubber, or polyurethane for extreme abrasionprotection.

With output power ranging from 1–90 kW, heads up to 240 metres and pumping capacities of up to300 l/s the Flygt Bibo range of submersible dewateringpumps are designed for long service life whilstproviding maximum efficiency.

Slurry pumps

Slurry removal is an essential part of day-to-dayoperations in a wide range of industries, such asmining, ore dressing, sand contracting, ash handlingand steel milling.

The applications in these industries make heavydemands on the slurry pumps, particularly in terms ofthe costs incurred when it comes to wear and tear,repairs and maintenance.

In this series of pumps the wet end, indeed all wearparts, are made of hardened high-chrome cast iron,which provides complete wear protection. The high-chrome impeller, incorporates a swept-back design forsustained high efficiency and clog-free performance inthe most severe applications.

The drive unit can be easily detached from the wetend for fast access to wear parts. And there is noneed to replace the entire wet end because the splitcasing design enables the volute lining to be easilyaccessed and replaced.

Flygt is the only manufacturer that offers its customersa total solution for slurry handling. The pumps can besupplied with an agitator and/or a mixer for a cleanersump. Optional internal cooling allows pumping downto low levels, avoiding sediment build-up – we call itClean Sump Technology.

Slurry pumps have capacities of up to 350 l/s andpump heads up to 100 metres.

This series of pumps covers an extensive performancerange and can be used in a variety of applications:from pumping sewage in treatment plants andmunicipal applications, handling industrial effluent,process water and raw water, to applications in aqua-and agriculture.

The standard version of these pumps is made in castiron and for more demanding applications the pumpscan be supplied in industrial configuration. The pumpsare also available in explosion proof versions.

An extensive range of hydraulic sections, including theimpeller and volute, are available to handle differenttypes of media. The capacities range up to approx.2,700 l/s. A variety of drive units, with motor ratingsup to 780 kW, are also available.

Pump code systemFlygt uses a system to code andthereby identify its products. Eachpump is given a code made up oftwo letters followed by fournumbers, e.g., NP 3153. The firstletter refers to the pump’shydraulic section, i.e., the impellerand volute. It also refers to thepump, as the impeller useddetermines the pump type. Thesecond letter refers to the pump’smethod of installation.

The four numbers refer to thepump’s model as well as specifyits size in comparison to otherpumps of the same type. Thuspump CP 3127 is larger than CP 3085.

Therefore a CP 3127 pump wouldbe equipped with a shrouded,single or multi-vane impeller thatruns in a volute. It would be semi-permanently installed in a wetwell, with twin guide bars, on adischarge connection.

Whereas a NT 3085 pump wouldbe equipped with a semi-open,self cleaning impeller. It would bevertically mounted in a permanentdry well, with flange connections,suction and discharge pipe work.

Sustained high efficiencyfor wastewater handlingWith its unique semi-open, self-cleaning impeller, the new seriesof N-pumps can handle fluidswith high concentrations offibrous material, whilstmaintaining a high level ofpumping efficiency over longduty periods. The special reliefgroove in the volute reduces therisk of clogging by creating a self-cleaning flow path through thepump.

Designed to minimisecloggingC-pumps are equipped with ashrouded, single or multi-vaneimpeller that runs in a volute. Theshape and size of the impeller aredesigned to minimise clogging,which makes this pump ideal forwastewater applications. Theseimpellers are alsohydrodynamically balanced forsubmersible duty using theWetbalance® techniquedeveloped by Flygt.

Pumps for solidshandlingThe D-pump is used mainlyto pump abrasive media orlow volumes at high heads.This pump features a vorteximpeller, which means thatthe flow is produced not bythe impeller but by therapidly rotating vortex theimpeller creates.Consequently most of theparticles in the liquid nevercome into actual contactwith the impeller, thusminimising wear. Thesepumps have a comparablylarge throughlet.

The sharpened edgeof the impeller runs against acutting plate, placed at the inletof the pump. The F-pump is idealfor pumping liquid manure, orheavily contaminated sewage andsludge.

TOP pump station

TOP, or The Optimal Pump station has a radical newsump floor designed specifically for improvedefficiency. It is an all-in-one solution in which pumpand pump station are carefully matched. It can beused together with N, C, D and M hydraulic units.

In a TOP station the pump’s integrated dischargeconnections are hydraulically optimised to improve theflow over the sump floor during pumping. Theconverging, sloping floor of the TOP sump, increasesturbulence – keeping solids in suspension. Thisprevents the build up of sediment, thereby eliminatingfrequent and costly cleaning and maintenance.

The Flush valveThe Flush valve is an automatic flushing system that harnesses the power of the pump and shoots a powerful jet stream of water around the entire pump station at the beginning of each pumping cycle.

As a result the contents of the sump are subjected to intensive mixing, thus re-suspending any sludge before the pump cycle begins.This unique system ensures a high degree ofoxygenation and practically eliminates odoroushydrogen sulphide.

The Flush valve can be easily attached to the volutesof CP, DP and NP-pumps.

APF cleaner – the electronicsludge fighterAPF is easily mounted in anelectrical control cabinet and worksin parallel with the main controller.By running the pumps until theabsolute lowest water level isreached, grease and dirt, whichnormally settle on the surface, arepumped away. This preventssludge build up and ultimatelyreduces the cost of manualcleaning.

Pump flotation modulesAvailable in four different sizes, Flygtpump flotation modules are made inlightweight prefabricated polyethylene.They are a cost effective alternative totraditional steel pontoons.

The pump liftThis unique device is designed to simplify the processof lifting and lowering pumps in and out of sumps.With the pump lift system there is no need to ’fish’for the pump handle and no difficulty when lifting thepump to the top of the sump.

The pump lift consists of a short chain, a long nyloncord and a grip eye. One end of the chain is securedto the pump handle and the other is attached to thenylon cord. The cord runs up to the edge of thesump, just below the cover.

Accessories for trouble-free,efficient pumping

The Flush valve turns a pump intoa powerful mixer. When the pumpstarts the valve opens forapproximately 30 seconds and apowerful jet stream flushes allsolids into suspension. As theflushing sequence is part of thepump cycle, flushing occurs everytime the pump starts.

This series of mixed-flow pumps is designed primarilyfor screened waste water and storm water applicationsas well as for irrigation, industrial effluent, processwater and raw water handling. The standard version ofthis series of pumps is made in cast iron. Pumpsintended for applications in explosive environments arealso available in explosion proof versions.

The pumps are usually installed vertically in eitherprefabricated steel or concrete columns.

Capacities range from 200 to 2,000 l/s and pumpingheads up to 20 metres.

With capacities of up to 5,000 litres per second, largevertical propeller pumps are used in storm waterstations, sewage treatment plants, land drainage,irrigation, aquaculture and water attractions.

Pumping requirements and site conditions vary fromone project to the next, but the modular design of thepumps makes them the ideal choice for a wide rangeof applications and for targeting specific requirements.The results are always the same: high quality, ease ofservicing and low overall costs. When it comes toinstallation, the pumps can be easily installed in avertical steel or concrete column.

The smaller, horizontal mounted propeller pumps canbe quickly and economically installed, operatingthrough the wall between two tanks on a dischargeconnection. Because of continuous flow, low systemhydraulic losses and optimal pumping duty points, thepumps are not just a good economic solution, theywill also maximise the efficiency of a system.

The horizontal propeller pumps are extremely compactand use multipole motors with a wide range ofpropellers, instead of mechanical gearing.

Flygt mixers are used in a wide range of mixing dutiessuch as solids suspension, liquid blending and de-stratification. Submersible mixers have a compactdesign, which together with Flygt’s installationmethods makes them easy to install both in new andexisting tanks.

They can be found in operation at wastewatertreatment plants, on oil and gas rigs and supply ships,in aqua and agriculture and in the steel and metalindustry.

Unlike their dry-mounted counterparts, submersiblemixers provide unlimited freedom of positioning andorientation. By utilising this freedom, the mixer jet isallowed to develop and create efficient mixing of theentire volume.

Flygt’s compact mixers are made of stainless steel andprovide a cost-efficient alternative for most mixingapplications. The low speed, large diameter mixers will gently mix large volumes with remarkably lowpower consumption.

Mixers

Flygt produces three different types of ejectors, whichare connected to our range of pumps. Depending onthe application area, the ejectors can be used toprovide effective aeration or mixing of tanks andbasins.

The FloGet ejector aerator is the natural choice forsmall treatment plants where flexible and reliableaeration is essential. FloGet provides optimal mixingand efficient aeration, which can be performedseparately or in combination. The FloGet unit can beused with or without pressurised air for optimalflexibility.

The air /water ejector can be used separately ortogether with hydroejectors in retention basins andtanks. The ejector uses a mixture of air and water toproduce a powerful flow jet, which by aerating themixing zone, controls the odour level. Whenunsubmerged the air/water ejector acts as a flushing device.

The hydroejector is best utilised in retention basins orother water storage tanks, keeping water in motionuntil it transferred for treatment. The hydroejectorperforms two functions, when submerged it producesa powerful bulk flow, mixing the contents and re-suspending the pollutants in the basin. When thewater level starts to fall, the hydroejector automaticallyturns into a flushing device, relieving the walls andfloor of organic matter.

Intelligent systems for pumps and mixersAt Flygt we produce monitoring and control systemsfor many different pump and mixer applications. Our systems offer reduced operational costs, betteroverview, less report handling and improvedsafeguarding of the environment.

As well as supplying the hardware, such as pumpcontrollers, sensors, electrical start equipment andcables, we also have software for running the system.

The Flygt AquaView supervision software provides thePC-based SCADA (Supervision, Control And DataAcquisition) know-how.

The applications range from those operating inwastewater treatment plants and pump stations toproducts pumping ground water from building sites.

Supervision systemAquaView is a unique, easy-to-use software packagethat enables you to receive accurate information aswell as control your entire waste water system.

AquaView can reduce operating and maintenancecosts by giving you a complete overview of the facility:everything from alarm reports and graphs to flowconditions and trends. The software also gives youcomplete remote control of connected stations orplants within your network and lets you view theoperational status of the station at the same time.

Pump controllersFMC is an automated control system for wastewatertreatment, specifically designed for pumpingapplications, to monitor and control the flow in andout of a system, both precisely and effectively.

With a controller to suit all standard pumpingoperations, these units offer additional control in awide range of wastewater handling applications. FMCcan be used in conjunction with AquaView for greaterpower and flexibility to monitor and control theequipment in your system.

FGC is an automatic controller for grinder pumpsoperating in pressurised sewage systems, for the on-site supervision of pump stations displaying real timeinformation.

Flygt also offers high-performance level sensorsproviding 4–20 mA signals to pump controllers.

Automatic control panelsFlygt’s series of automatic control panels are primarilyfor use in municipal sewage applications where ahigh standard of safety is a major concern. The panelsare CE-marked, which ensures personnel safety andconformity to the provisions of the Low VoltageDirective (LVD). Standard Flygt control panels aredesigned for one pump and two pump operation andseveral optional packages are available to meet theneeds of the various European markets.

Generally, Flygt provides panels that cover all theconditions under which Flygt pumps and mixers are inoperation. These include sites such as mines andtreatment plants, and for products with motorsranging from a hundred watts up to hundreds ofkilowatts.

StartersFlygt has developed a wide assortment of manual andautomatic starters, which provide a range of functionsthat ensure the pumps work at optimal efficiency.

ENM-10 Level regulator switchThe patented ENM-10 self-cleaning level regulatoruses a unique switching mechanism to start and stopa pump whenever the liquid reaches a pre-determinedheight. A micro switch is housed in the smoothpolypropylene casing, which is resistant to mostaggressive liquids and prevents grease and solids fromsticking to its surface. Instead of floating, ENM-10regulators hang immersed in the liquid, preventingthe cables from tangling.

The ENM-10 is the ideal solution for sewage water,ground water and dewatering pumping, in fact, formost level control applications.

Subcab® power cableThe Subcab® cable is a flexible cable speciallydeveloped for heavy duty submersible pumps andmixers. It is designed for tough operating conditionsand exceeds general standards with regard tomechanical properties, particularly in terms of tear-resistance, abrasion resistance and tensile strength. Inaddition, the Subcab® cable also demonstrates lowwater absorption properties, which means that whenit is submerged it retains its mechanical and electricalproperties over a long period of time.
