This map illustrates satellite-detected water overthe flood-affected provinces of H Ty & Hanoi,Red River Delta Region, Vietnam. Probable floodwaters were detected with Palsar radar dataacquired on 7 November 2008 at a spatialresolution of 25m. Pre-flood Palsar radar data from22 September 2008 was also used in this analysis.This flood assessment is a preliminary analysis &has not yet been validated in the field.The depiction and use of boundaries, geographicnames and related data shown here are notwarranted to be error-free nor do they imply officialendorsement or acceptance by the United Nations.This map was produced by the United NationsInstitute for Training and Research (UNITAR)Operational Satellite Applications Programme(UNOSAT).
