thoroughly deserve the recognition. We have listed some of the

Our fantastic P&C Fete raised almost $20,000 and showed the tremendous Wauchope Public School spirit.

The building of two sensational cricket nets. They may help us win the Ashes.

And we unveiled our new sports representative shirts at the district Cross Country and looked great.

2014 Student Leaders

Congratulations to our student leaders who were presented with their badges yesterday. Our School Captains are Abbie T and Chad M. Our Vice Captains are Emily W and Jack P. Our Prefects are Ivy M, Georgie J, Nathan G and Riley M. Thank you to our outgoing 2013 Prefects: Rhianna T, Tony T, Stephanie K, Bailey M, Taylah D, Piper T, Harley W and Joseph H.

Schools Spectacular Wow! What a concert. Our choir had another experience they will never forget last week. Congratulations boys, girls, Mrs Brassey and Mrs Dignum. Thank you also to Mrs Pelley, Miss Carson and Miss Hollis for travelling down for the matinee with almost 50 students. A 16 hour day trip!

K-2 Concert I know the K-2 boys and girls have been practising for this fun event on Tuesday 10 December. All are welcome to attend. I believe we may be cooking and selling steak sandwiches on the afternoon. These funds raised will go to our final Fete tally. I may need some help from some parents to assist with cooking, serving and eating on the night.

Fete Sell Off This is happening tomorrow. All proceeds go to the final Fete profit count.

Congratulations

It was my pleasure to present Mrs Annette McCudden with a 40 years teaching service award at the Years 3-6 Presentation Day. I have presented a lot of 20 year service awards and the odd 30 year award but never a 40! Congratulations of 40 years of making a positive impact and shaping our future citizens Annette.

Stop Work Meeting I’d like to once again thank the WPS staff who decided to submit an exemption from Tuesday’s two hour stop work Federation meeting so our major Presentation Day ceremony could continue as planned. WPS has many Federation members and were in support of accepting the latest pay and work conditions.

Discos These are a great way to end the year. The P&C donate any profits directly back to that particular stage so classroom resources may be purchased. My main request is that there is an adult present prior to the end of each disco ready to take your child home. Please ensure you know exactly when each disco finishes.

Reports Semester 2 reports will be sent home on Friday 13 (unlucky for some!) in envelopes addressed to the parents. Please take time to read these with your child/ren. If you would like to discuss your child’s report with the class teacher please arrange a convenient time.

Year 6 Farewell I’m sure all the children in Year 6 are looking forward to Thursday 12 December. Children are to begin arriving from 5:45 onwards ready for a 6:00pm start. Parents will be invited to stay for the first 25 minutes to see the captain’s speeches, the cutting of the cake and the presentation of photos and certificates. Parents

will then be invited to leave so our very grown up Year 6 students can enjoy a sit down meal. Year 5 students attending the disco are to arrive at 7:30pm. Please ensure an adult picks up your child at 9:00pm sharp!

Pool Parties/Movie Days I’m sure all children attending these days will have a sensational time. What a fantastic way to finish off the term. If your child is attending a pool party please ensure they have a hat, sensible clothing, a rashie, sunscreen, food and plenty of liquids.

Talent Quest This event will be on Friday 13 and is a reward for those children who have displayed excellent behaviour this term.

P&C Meeting Tonight is the last P&C meeting for 2013. I’d like to publically thank Kim Thompson - President and her team for another fantastic year working together to provide brilliant opportunities and resources for the children of Wauchope Public School. Thank you to all the mums and dads who have given up their time to assist in any way whether it be attend general meetings, attend Fete meetings, assist at Athletics carnivals, work in WOOSH or the canteen, volunteer to lay turf, write letters to council etc. etc. A special thank you and farewell to any parents who will be leaving our P&C as their youngest child ventures into Secondary education. Kim Thompson is one of these people and she will obviously be stepping aside from her position at the end of this year. I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of the children and staff of WPS to say a HUGE thank you to Kim for over 13 years of being heavily involved with our P&C. Kim is an absolute doer! If something needs to be done or if someone needs help she has always been the first to assist. She has also proven very able in convincing others to help as well! Kim has put in countless hours to make our school a better place. Her husband has informed me that he wants me to keep her involved with our P&C in an attempt to keep her occupied. I told him that Kim is always welcome at WPS.

Science Trap I’m looking forward to seeing what students in Classes 3/4HS and 5/6WH have come up with this year. These experiments will be on display in the hall on Wednesday 11 December.

Wauchope High School Orientation The Year 6 students who are enrolled at WHS in 2014 had a fantastic time yesterday. By now our Year 6 students have worked out that High School is going to be very different to their years in Primary School. I always say a person’s Primary school years are the best years of your life. Most of our students may even miss their lovely Primary School teachers!

Extravadance Studio’s Wauchope Annual Scholarship Winner

On Sunday 1 December my family and I went to the Extravadance Studio, in Port Macquarie, to celebrate the end of the year. The first award I received was a medal for being part of a jazz class. The second award was a

trophy for Most Improved Class, Wauchope. The last award I received was a big trophy and a little trophy for 2013 Wauchope Scholarship. I have to hand the big trophy back in at the end of next year. By Charlotte C 2MG.
