Veterans Day
November Calendar
Thank you all for a very eventful month of Oc-tober. We initiated a new brother into our lodge and with that spread some light. Family day was a suc-cess and we had lots of fun. The pink apron degree was hilarious and we were able to help out the Ferris chapter with their scholarship to the Ferris High School. This coming month we plan on more initia-tions and more fellowship. Be sure you check our website for updates and new happenings at lodge. We plan for some great dinners so come hungry and with your fat pants on.
Some Friendly Reminders Visit our Facebook and our website for updates and

Master’s Message
Greetings Brethren,
Well another Family Day has come and gone. Everyone that participated had a great time.
I would like to thank the following people for their time and effort in the cook off, making
and serving the food in our food booth, and working the merchandise booth:
Mike Kinney Denise Kinney Shea Browning Norma Tobias Joshua Boyd Lori Elaine Frances Woodruff Robert Weston Holly Story Taylor Kennedy Danny Hylton Gene Smith Don Hutson
Without all of you, family day would not have been possible.
Thank you to Mike and Denise Kinney for smoking our briskets for the cook off and the meat for our booth. For those that don’t know him, Mike is Taylor’s future father-in-law and is not yet a member of our lodge but he chose to help out.
A special thank you goes to Bovie and Sarah Joseph. Without their extreme efforts, Family Day would not have been as smooth as it was.
Now for a part of my office that I do not like. At Octobers Stated meeting, our treasurer informed us of shortfalls in our General Fund that is at a crisis level. For those that were not there, I made a plea for all Life and Endowed members to please consider paying “dues” this year. This would help alleviate the crisis and keep us from having to pull from our building fund. I have already led by example and paid my “dues” and would hope that you all would consider doing the same to help keep our lodge moving forward and keep our building fund intact.
I would ask for continued prayers for Bill and Rosie Presly. And I pray every one of you have a great November. Remember this is a time for giving thanks for all we have and a time to spend with family.
Also, due to Thanksgiving, George B. Dealey lodge will be dark November 25th be-
cause families will be traveling. Prayers also for safe travels.

On November 4th, 1752, a twenty-year-old young
man named George Washington became an Entered
Apprentice at the Lodge of Fredericksburg, in the Brit-
ish colony of Virginia. (This lodge still exists today as
Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4 in the Grand Lodge of
Virginia AF&AM.)
Lodge records indicate that George Washington was
Entered on November 4, 1752, Passed on March 3,
1753, and Raised on August 4, 1753 .
Washington himself was really something of a nobody
at the time of his initiation: the oldest surviving son of a
landowning family, yes, but poorly educated. He was
just beginning his military career. He would gain notice
the very year he was Raised during a dangerous mis-
sion as a messenger to an important Native American
chief in the run-up to the French and Indian War; dur-
ing that conflict, he distinguished himself on several
occasions .
At his first inauguration in 1791, President Washington
took his oath of office on a Bible from St. John's Lodge
in New York. During his two terms, he visited Masons in
North and South Carolina and presided over the cor-
nerstone ceremony for the U.S. Capitol in 1793.
In retirement, Washington became charter Master of
the newly chartered Alexandria Lodge No. 22, sat for
a portrait in his Masonic regalia, and in death, was
buried with Masonic honors.
Such was Washington's character, that from almost the day he took his Masonic obligations until his death, he became
the same man in private that he was in public. In Masonic terms, he remained "a just and upright Mason" and became
a true Master Mason. Washington was, in Masonic terms, a “living stone” who became the cornerstone of American
civilization. He remains the milestone others civilizations follow into liberty and equality. He is Freemasonry's “perfect ash-
lar” upon which countless Master Masons gauge their labors in their own Lodges and in their own communities.
So, this great American leader was a Mason. His Masonry involved months between receiving his degrees. The Masonry
of his era required lodges to be resourceful in solving their own problems and challenges. Even then, there was an inter-
est in the high degrees of Masonry. The attraction to the Fraternity was its principles, precepts, and ritual--in a word, its
secrets--not its famous members or actual history; there was precious little of either of those latter items.

Remembering our Veterans
George B. Dealey Lodge would like to thank all the veterans who served this country in its time of need.
And great thanks also go out to the family of those who fought for our freedom . Eternal gratitude goes
out to you all. Thank you.
On this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to
fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live
free.
Dan Lipinski
While only one day of the year is dedicated solely to honoring our veterans, Americans must never forget the
sacrifices that many of our fellow countrymen have made to defend our country and protect our freedoms.
