Some Tips for Travel…
Dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes are first and foremost on your list. To relieve the stress of sitting down for hours, plan to stretch your arms and
move your legs. Take advantage of rest stops to get out and walk. What's chilly for you might be too hot for another passenger. We try our best to find a
happy medium temperature. Bring a small, lightweight blanket and dress in layers. A blanket will give you your very own temperature control tool. Or just remove or add layers. And it is hard to predict the temperature outside the bus!
If you like to nap while we travel bring along an inflatable neck pillow. You will avoid a cramped neck.
A folding carry-on bag is ideal for storing purchases and makes it easy for you when the trip comes to an end to find all your goodies in one place.
You are welcome to bring bottled water or beverage and snacks. Never pass up the opportunity to use the rest room during rest stops…you never know
when you will see another rest room that is not moving. Be patient, while traveling; enjoy the journey, not just the destination.

Molly, Jim and a Train Ride
Friday, October 19, 2018 Depart: 7:15 a.m. Return: 7:45 p.m.Jim Thorpe, PA, formerly Mauch Chunk, is a small picturesque Pennsylvania town with a fascinating history. Established in a wilderness on the banks of the Lehigh River in 1818, Mauch Chunk became a bustling coal transportation center, tourist Mecca, and the esteemed seat of Carbon County by the middle of the 19th century. In 1954, the economic revival took a strange course. Mauch Chunk traded its name for the body and name of 1912 Olympic hero Jim Thorpe. Although this bizarre exchange received nationwide attention, it did little to revitalize the town. Revitalization came to Jim Thorpe over several decades through promotion of the town’s historical and architectural legacy, and the natural beauty of its surroundings Hear Unique History & Legend when you begin your day with a guided tour of the town. Jim Thorpe (aka Mauch Chunk) has a unique and storied past with an amazing variety of stories that contribute to the town’s mystique. JTX tours offer many different historical perspectives: facts and stories about a range of topics relating to the town and its people, architecture and culture, tragedy, disaster and immense wealth.
