After years of feedback from partners, donors, and the public, Rainbow Village recognized an increasing major challenge - our name! Our organization began in the 1970’s with a few homes and community center on Dautel Lane in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Each home serves adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) as they age and is maintained by an expert team, for life.

While known and beloved to our families and donors for almost 50 years, we’ve learned that today, our mission, offering and the population we serve are often misunderstood by our name alone. Now with 88 homes throughout St. Louis, more than 300 residents and more than 1,000 visitors to the Wolff Community Center – we are striving to inspire new generations of partners and advocates.

We wanted you to know that as of January 1, 2021, our brand name is Promise Community Homes. This change is made to best communicate our unique offering of safe, affordable, accessible homes within the community.

• Our marks are designed to reflect our houses and the population we serve.• The keyhole image represents safety and security, and the residents themselves – in an

accessible home (on a ramp).• The blue and gold colors are strong and hopeful – just like our residents.• The name reflects our promise to be the property management and housing partner of

choice.• We will retain the name Rainbow Village for the original homes on Dautel Lane, in

honor of our founders and their legacy.
