Energy Surplusby exact tracking technology

sonnen_systems will typically optimize the energy yield of a photovoltaic unit in many ways.

The accurate tracking technology of sonnen_systems as well as the direct and indirect cooling and the increased self cleaning effect of the module surface lead to additional yields of up to 45 % compared to stationary systems.

CommunicationControl your system – wherever you are!

6

The integration of the SolTrk into SMA communication ensures constant control and monitoring of sonnen_systems.Each control unit is connected with the Sunny WebBox, which represents the link between sonnen_system and the Internet. Thus, every sonnen_system is permanently in touch with the Sunny Portal, where all data of the system are processed, archived and visualized.

The interface of the Sunny WebBox shows a listing of all connected SolTrks. Here, each system can individually be selected and read-out.

All parameters and instan- taneous values can be seen at a glance. They inform you about firmware, adjustment angle, current and operating mode of the sonnen_system.

Via remote maintenance, diagnoses about function and condition of sonnen_systemcan be made. Moreover, each system can be remote controlled and thereby ensures a fast, beneficial and simple service of every sonnen_system.

Page 7: sonnen solar tracker 1/2

CommunicationControl your system – wherever you are!

7

The Sunny Portal provides an interface, in which all operational data of the sonnen_systems are converged. Here, tables, charts and reports are compiled to monitor, evaluate and visualize the sonnen_system.

Data exchanges between the system operator and sonnen_system canbe carried out differently. The user can directly and indirectly access all data of sonnen_system.In case of a system outage an event log is generated automatically and immediately informes system operator and service staff to minimize down times and deficits in yield.

Via our new Apple iPhone based application track_app the tracking system’s astronomical control can be directly accessed and therewith initial operation and the complete service can be carried out. Instant status messages on the iPhone device allow immediate reactions from anywhere in the world.

Additionally, built-in remote diagnostics and remote functions directly process and com- plete most messages. Even the inverters can be diagnosed from distance and their yields are shown in real-time via the clearly laid-out display.

Astronomical Control

Connection Concept and Cabling

Each sonnen_system is equipped with a separate control unit. Thus, one big advantage is that each system can be accessed and parametrised individually.

Only a supply cable, a feed-in cable and a communication cable are needed for the operation. Their entry points are all at the bottom side of the SolTrk. The cable enterings are designed as PG-screwings each and marked according to their sonnen_system configuration. Thus a simple, fast and proper connection is ensured.

This way, up to 25 sonnen_systems can be summarized in one group and multiple of such groups can be pooledto huge solar power plants. A costly laying of control wiring thereby becomes redundant.

Cabling Communication

All devices of one sonnen_system are connected to a Sunny WebBox via RS 485 communication bus.Every SolTrk is equipped with a COM-IN and COM-OUT plug-in to integrate them into the bus. The inverter is connected to the appropriate SolTrk via branch line.

Dimensioning sonnen_systemsArea requirements and allocation of modules

To prevent sonnen_systemsfrom shadowing each other, sufficient amount of space per system is needed.

The crucial factors are the dimensions of the module sur- face and the radiation angle of the sunlight. As these factors vary on type and location of the system, we differentiate floor space requirements for sonnen_systems.

The rail rack of the sonnen_systemallows an extremely versatile and flexible arrangement of all current PV modules.

The layout of sonnen_systems canbe individually adapted to the quantity and size of the applied module type, and thus, the most different module allocations can be realized.
