Sons ‘A Pitches Walk-Off with Title Walks usually come back to haunt a team, and no one knows this better than the Easy Street pitchers as they handed out 14 free passes, including the rare extra-innings walk-off walk, which allowed Sons ‘A Pitches to walk away with the 2014 Fantasy Camp Championship. Mike Zimmerman drove in the winning run with a one out, bases loaded walk, off Ron Schoenbach, scoring Matt Varney. Schoenbach opened the bottom of the ninth striking out Jim Fitzpatrick III for the first out, but that’s the last time a Pitches player didn’t reach a base. Consecutive singles by Varney and John Buono, followed by a walk to Zimmerman loaded the bases. Schoenbach walked Zimmerman again (Fantasy Camp Rules) to end the game in walk-off fashion. In the early games, 3rd Sacker Farm was able to stave off a late innings surge by Deer Meat to capture fifth place, winning 9-6. Steve Bogue and Eric Sode- mann led the way with two hits each, with Tim Webber and Bogue each driving in two runs to lead the Farms to the victory. In alphabetical order: Paul Bishop, John Buono, Chris Fitzpatrick, Jim Fitzpatrick Jr., Jim Fitzpatrick III, Dave Froehlich, Mike Grebe, Duane Jackson, Tim Monahan, Tony Peltier, Bob Steffes, coach Tom Trebelhorn, Matt Varney, coach Greg Vaughn, and Mike Zimmerman Steve Bogue banging out one of his two hits during the fifth place game. John Buono, Fantasy Camp MVP, singled, walked twice and drove in two runs in the championship game. Gary Anderson delivering with one of his two base knocks during the third place game. Matt Varney, Fantasy Camp Cy Young Award winner, jumps for joy before scoring the championship run. In the third place game, Tiny’s Terrors banged out six hits and walked seven times in their convincing 7-1 victory over the G-Spots. Gary Anderson led the way for the Terrors with two hits, driving in two runs. Congratulations to all teams!
