The idea of resurrection from the dead is easily seen in the
story of the twelve-year-old girl presumed to be dead.
Jesus tells the crowd, “The child is not dead but asleep.”
And to the child he says, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!”
This indeed is a story of resurrection, one that is an anticipation
of Jesus’ own resurrection from the dead and also of ours.
Reflection: Do you believe that death conquers all?
Remember, Jesus is risen and will raise
us to new life. Death is not the end!

From the Pastor Stewardship by the Book Today’s reading from St. Paul explains the “divine economy” of stewardship - “The relief of others ought not to impoverish you; thee should be a certain equality. Your plenty at the present time should supply their need so that their surplus may in turn one day supply your need.” Parish Picnic The first meeting of the parish Picnic Committee took place this past Wednesday and preparations are under way for the annual Parish Picnic which will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 in the park in Oakfield. As a part of the festivities, there will be children’s games. We are once again looking for donations of prizes for the children. Small toys and candies seem to be very popular with the children. If you can donate items like this the children (and the Picnic Committee) would be most grateful. The Picnic Committee is also soliciting prize donations for the Raffle. Please consider making a prize donation either as a family or local business. For donations and donation information please contact Dawn Kuechenberg 924-7983. Server Training A training session for new servers is scheduled for Wednesday July 18, 2012 at the St. James site at 6:00p.m. If you are seven years of age or older and would like to serve the community by being a server at Mass please contact the parish office at 922-1167. St. John site Hall Cleaner(s) needed The St. John site Hall is in need of volunteers to clean on a monthly basis. If you would have a couple of hours a month to come keep the St. John Hall tidy please contact Sue at 922-1167. Money Counters Dan Sereika has informed me that after several years he will no longer be able to continue assisting Dan Homuth and our parish community as a money counter. As a result we are in need of three individuals to assist our community in counting the weekly offerings. My hope here is to set up two teams so that the amount of time required on a weekly basis is not burdensome. If you would like to serve our community in this capacity (training will be provided) please contact the parish office by calling 922-1167. Bookkeeper Wanted For the past several months Patty Salter has faithfully served our parish community as bookkeeper. Patty has informed me she is no longer able to continue in this position. If you or someone you know is interested in this position please submit a resume to: Sons of Zebedee—Bookkeeper W5882 Church Rd. Fond du Lac, WI 54937 The position of for approximately ten hours per week and the applicant would need to be present at the monthly Parish Pastoral Council Meetings. Peace and Joy, Fr. Michael
