Statement of Purpose I, Debesh Bhabani Swain, wish to pursue an executive management degree at IIM, Bangalore. I have been working as a ERP(SAP) consultant for the last 39 months with wide spectrum of customers ranging from UBS, SAP , Ariba, Care Stream, to J&J. Solutions Co. Ltd. My professional job requires solving problems in the various phases of supply chain management using SAP software as an effective tool. I am well settled, respected and satisfied with my life. However this speciously comfortable state will lead to my intellectual and professional stagnation. And too, as a technical consultant, my focus so far has been with all the ‘what’ part, and I want to explore the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of the business word. Moreover presently, I have no social obligations. So, I want to take this opportunity to enhance my academic knowledge and professional skills. This will give me personal satisfaction and will enable me to become a more constructive member of society. The external stimuli for doing a management degree came from my colleagues, several of who have done their Masters from premier institutes like IIT’s and IIMSs. I admired the wider ken possessed by them and aspired to attain that level. I did my Bachelor in Technology in in mechanical Engineering from ITER, BBSR in 2010. And I did I have done my schooling at my home town, Rourkela. Through out my career, I happened to be a brilliant student. I admit that I was never the best or the most outstanding student. But I personally think consistent excellence is as difficult as (if not more) occasional brilliance. I have seen and lived my life and career through various changing circumstances. Those made my interests are getting shifted from my childhood dreams of becoming a teacher, a botanist, to a computer geek. I thoroughly enjoyed computer subjects like C, C++, DS duing my engineering study and soon that become as my hobby, and I landed working a software engineer in Wipro technology. At present, at TCS, with my current enrollment with Ariba integration, the greatest inspiration for me has been both the team from SAP and TCS with their in-depth technical as well as business understanding and their untiring team spirit in handling the critical situation with ease. More-so, I am from Rourkela, one of the well known industrial bases of India. It offers multiple scopes to contribute substantially to my community. To translate my dream and passion to reality, good supervisors and a highly competitive atmosphere at the institute will be very helpful. My experiences, through different friends from IIM Bangalore, have been quite enduring and impactful. I would be privileged enough to be the part of the case-based learning experiences from IIM Bangalore, and to leverage that in right stride

Statement of Purpose

I, Debesh Bhabani Swain, wish to pursue an executive management degree at IIM, Bangalore.

I would be privileged enough to be the part of the case-based learning experiences from IIM Bangalore, and to leverage that in right stride with creativity and innovation through the state-of-art faculty of the institute. This led me to apply to the institute. My experience, training and indomitable interest make me a suitable candidate for the program.
