a centralized energy storage solution in order to supply
priority power in the event of a grid failure. A large portion of
the daily power requirements of the whole estate is supplied
from solar panels on each home and the central plant room,
reducing the energy drawn from the grid. The central power
room provides power for all common areas and also backup
power to each home.
In the event of grid failure, the system disconnects itself
from the grid and provides power in an isolated mini-grid
configuration. Most significantly, the whole complex is
able to provide excess power to the grid if required.
