This 18-day trip begins in the Peruvian capital of Lima. From there, travel to Cusco to seethe ancient Incan ruins of Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. Take a bus to Puno whereyou will explore Lake Titicaca before and then return to Lima to make the journey to Riode Janeiro.

Enjoy three days in beautiful Rio de Janeiro before flying Iguazu Falls and explore bothsides of the falls. End your tip in beautiful Buenos Aires.

DAY 1: Lima

Lima, the capital of Peru, sits on the country's aridPacific coast. Founded in 1535, its colonial centreis well preserved, but today Lima is a bustlingmetropolis and one of South America’s largestcities. The city is home to the various museumsincluding the Museo Larco that houses a collectionof pre-Columbian art and the Museo de la Nación,tracing the history of Peru’s ancient civilizations.Lima is known as the “gastronomical capital of theAmericas”, encompassing specialties from cevicheand traditional coastal cooking to refined globalfare. It even boasts several of the top restaurantsin the world. DAY 2: Lima Half Day City & Larco Museum

Today you will be collected from your hotel for ahalf day city tour of Lima. First you will visit themodern district of San Isidro and Miraflores, whereyou will have a view of the Pacific Ocean from theParque del Amor (Love Park), then you willcontinue with your tour of the ''City of Kings''which begins in the downtown colonial district.Visit Plaza de Armas where you will see theGovernment Palace, the Cathedral, theArchbishop’s Palace, City Hall as well as the XVIIcentury San Francisco Church the greatestmonumental complex of Colonial Art in Americaand Cultural Heritage of Humanity and catacombs(a World Heritage Site). This is a chance toappreciate Lima's magnificent Colonialarchitecture as well as vignettes of its pre-Colombian past. Continue to the Larco HerreraMuseum, considered to be one of the bestmuseums in Latin America. Features the best andmost complete pre-Hispanic gold and silvercollections in the world. DAY 3: Cusco Airport to Sacred Valley - IncludingTour

On arrival, please make your way through to theArrivals Hall where our representative will bewaiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in theSacred Valley of the Incas. He/she will be holding asign with your name on it. Enroute visit theCochahuasi Wasi and the chance to see Pumas,Condors and Aras. Continue to the Mercado deUrubamba, an authentic local market where therural people barter for agricultural products andanimals. DAY 4: Ollantaytambo Ruins

DAY 5: Machu Picchu Guided Tour

Machu Picchu is a 15th century Inca site, located2,430 metres above sea level on a mountain ridgeabove the Sacred Valley. It is the most famous ofall Inca sites, but it was not until 1911 that it wasbrought to the world’s attention by the Americanhistorian Hiram Bingham. The Incas abandonedthe city just prior to Spanish colonisation, the citywas never pillaged and as a result the ruins arestill in fantastic condition. With its location on adramatic ridgeline surrounded by sheer cliffs andthe Urubamba River on three sides, the city ofMachu Picchu is a remarkable place to visit. MachuPicchu was declared a UNESCO World HeritageSite in 1983 and in 2007 it was voted one of thenew Seven Wonders of the World. The tour startswith a bus ride from Aguas Calientes to MachuPicchu. You will be astonished at your first view ofMachu Picchu, a stunning display of ancientarchitecture with incredible surroundings. Enjoy aguided shared tour of the ruins and monumentssuch as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, theSacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, theTemple of the Three Windows and the Cemeteries.Return by bus to Aguas Calientes village. Pleasebe aware that your tour of Machu Picchu does notinclude an entry permit to Huayna Picchu (theiconic hill behind the Machu Picchu ruins). If youwant to climb Huayna Picchu then you need topre-book your permit with at least 3 months inadvance. Please contact your travel specialist ifyou would like to do this. DAY 5: Private Transfer Ollantaytambo - Cusco

Transfer from Ollantaytambo train station in theSacred Valley to Cusco.

DAY 6: Cusco - City Tour

You will be collected from your hotel for a privatesightseeing tour through Cusco, the heart of theInca Empire. Visit the fascinating QorikanchaTemple of the Sun, the 12-Angled Rock and theCathedral, built on the ruins of an Inca Palace.From here head to the archaeological remainslocated around the city, including the fortress ofSacsayhuaman, Qenqo (giant rock), the ancientsite of Puca Pucara and finally the Water Templeof Tambomachay. On completion of your tour, youwill be taken to your hotel. Included in your tourprice is the BTG (Tourist Ticket of Cusco) whichallows you entrance into 16 attractions aroundCusco in ten days. DAY 7: Transfer to the bus Station

You will be collected from your hotel at theappropriate time and transferred to Cusco bus ortrain station for your onward journey.

DAY 7: Touristic Bus: Cusco - Puno

This spectacular journey from Cusco to Puno takesyou across the Altiplano. This drive will take youthrough sleepy Andean villages, past spectacularsnow-capped mountains, sheer cliffs andrampaging rivers. Stops along the way include theatmospheric towns of Pucara and Andahuaylillas,and the pre-Inca ruin of Raqchi. Lunch is includedand you will arrive in Puno in the early evening.The approximate journey will take ten hours.

DAY 7: Arrival transfer in Puno

On arrival at Puno bus or train station, you will bemet by a representative who will be holding a signwith your name on it, to transfer you to your hotel.Should you have trouble locating him/her, pleaserefer to the front of your itinerary for emergencycontact details.

DAY 8: Full Day Tour to Uros & Taquile Islands

Early this morning you will be collected from yourhotel and transferred to the port located on LakeTiticaca. Travel by motorboat to the floating reedislands of Uros, situated four kilometres fromPuno. Here the locals continue to practice theirtraditional way of life, living by fishing. Theoriginal inhabitants of these floating islands aresaid to descend from one of the oldest cultures ofthe Americas. The Uros Islands, as well as thehouses on them and the boats used by theirinhabitants, are all made from the totora reedsthat grow in Lake Titicaca. Optional rides ontraditional reed boats can be arranged. Visit two ofthe 60 islands before continuing on to TaquileIsland. The journey to Taquile Island takesapproximately two and half hours, giving you thechance to enjoy the spectacular views offered byLake Titicaca. On arrival at Taquile, hike foraround 45 minutes along a long path thatgradually ascends to a village with a uniquecommunity. The views along the way areincredible. Visit the communal cooperative wherethere are craft textiles of a high quality. Lunch isserved at one of the many local restaurants. Afterlunch, descend down 500 steps to the main port ofthe island in time for an afternoon departure backto Puno City. On arrival at the port, you will betransferred to your hotel. DAY 11: Corcovado & Sugarloaf with Lunch

After an early pick up from your hotel, this tourmakes its way to the bottom of Corcovado Hill,where we ascend the mountain by vehicle.Climbing 4km through the Tijuca Forest, theworld’s largest urban National Park, we will arriveat the statue of Christ the Redeemer. After takingin the panoramic views, continue to the MaracanaStadium. We also pass the Sambadrome and theMetropolitan Cathedral, before passing throughthe bohemian neighbourhood of Lapa and itsfamous arches en-route to Copacabana. Enjoy atraditional Brazilian BBQ lunch (beverages notincluded) before visiting the famous SugarloafMountain with views across the entire city. Afterdescending the mountain, you will be dropped offat your hotel. Please note this is a small grouptour. DAY 12: Rio de Janeiro - Free Day

Today is a free day for you to relax on one of Rio’sfamous beaches such as Ipanema or Copacabana,or explore the city further at your leisure.

DAY 13: Iguazu Falls - Argentinean Side

After an early morning pick up from your hotel, wetravel to the Argentinean side of the Iguazu Falls.Beginning at the visitor’s centre, we take a ride onthe Rainforest Ecological train before exploring theupper and lower circuit footbridges. Thefootbridges, which are raised off the jungle floor,provide panoramic views from above and belowthe falls. A visit to Devil’s Gorge arguably the mostspectacular falls, is one of the day’s highlights. DAY 14: Iguazu Falls - Argentinean Side

Early morning pick up from your hotel for your fullday of exploring the Argentine side of the falls.This tour always starts early in order to beat thecrowds and get the first train to the Devil’s Throat.There are walkways over the islands which takeyou to a balcony over the falls and the mostspectacular view of the entire Devil’s Gorge. Youwill then have plenty of time to walk the 800metres of paths on the upper circuit. These newsuspended walkways are detached from the junglesurface so as to protect the fauna by preventingdisruption of the natural trails. From this circuityou have a higher sight of the falls, providing youwith a magnificent panoramic view. It takesaround one hour to cover the upper circuit. Thelower circuit contains 600 metres of walkways,also detached from the jungle floor, and has greatviews from below and around the falls. Once youhave finished all the circuits, return to the visitorcentre where your vehicles will be waiting totransfer you back to your hotel. Please note thereis some degree of difficulty as the path includesmany stairs, particularly on the lower circuit.National Park fee is included. DAY 16: Highlights of Buenos Aires City Tour

You will be collected from your hotel for yourthree-hour tour visiting the most importanthighlights of the city of Buenos Aires. Discover thehistory of the Plaza de Mayo Square, the site ofArgentina’s most important historical events - seeits surroundings and the most emblematicbuildings and learn all about them. Then enjoyMayo Avenue and wonder in awe at the oldestresidential neighbourhood in Buenos Aires: SanTelmo. Live and feel the original Tango in theneighbourhood of La Boca: walk along CaminitoStreet and enjoy the Dancers and souvenir shops.See the mythical Boca Juniors soccer stadium.Contemplate the modernization of the city whilsttraveling along Puerto Madero and its exclusivedocks, full of excellent restaurants and largeoffices. DAY 16: El Querandi Tango Show & Dinner

This evening you will be collected from your hotelto experience a Tango Show with dinner. This is anintimate & passionate tango show, housed in acozy wood-panelled 19th century building with acolourful history as a meeting point for poets andstudents in the heart of Buenos Aires's historiccentre. After being abandoned in the late 1970s,the bar was restored and reopened in 1992 as ElQuerandí Tango Hall. The show is directed byClaudio Campos, with musical arrangements byAdo Falasca, and it smoothly charts the history ofArgentina's most authentic artistic expressionfrom its origins to the modern day. The dinner isbetter than many, and at just over an hour long,the show is the perfect length. The three housesingers, six dancers and four musicians put on agreat show. Dinner will be served from 8.30pmfollowed by the show commencing at 10.00pm.Please note timings are subject to change and willbe confirmed directly to you.
