Today Mrs Carmon McFawn is officially retiring after an outstanding teaching career. Carmon has worked at our school for over 15 years in her specific role as a Learning Support Teacher. Carmon has also taught Kindergarten and Reading Recovery. Carmon has been a highly dedicated and caring member of our staff who has always offered her support to all our staff and assisted many students in many ways. Carmon recently also initiated and established our Primary Breakfast Program which has been an outstanding success. We wish Carmon all the very best in her retirement and on behalf of the school community we thank her for her outstanding efforts throughout her very successful career.

Goodluck to our girls and boys PSSA Soccer teams who are playing tomorrow against Gillwinga PS in the 2nd round of the state knockout. If either team wins they will play Westlawn PS following these games. Thanks to Mr Jones and Mr Newman for coaching these teams.

Last week Max Rayward, Ben Simpson, Chelsea Hughes and Molly Dungey competed in the Grafton finals of the Multicultural Speaking competition held at Westlawn Public School. We

are very proud of these students who represented our school at an excellent level delivering outstanding speeches.

At last week’s P&C meeting our P&C donated $12,500 towards the purchase of an additional 25 iPads and a new set of modern class furniture for KNC. Our thanks to our P&C for all their hard work and fundraising which makes a real positive difference in our school. Congratulations to all the students who are attending their Rewards Day today and tomorrow. Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 Rewards Days were held today and Early Stage 1 is tomorrow, Friday. We are very proud of these students and a large number of these students will also receive their AAA certificates this week. Students who receive their AAA certificate are considered to be outstanding students at our school. A number of our students have also received blue ribbons at recent assemblies. Congratulations to all of these students. Today all students will receive their school reports. Please read these reports carefully and contact your child’s teacher if you need additional feedback on any of the grades and comments. Have a great holiday Peter Hickey Principal

South Grafton Public School has an excellent website for our parents and visitors to access http://www.sthgrafton-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/. We are continually updating and improving this valuable resource and have now just activated the ‘Make a Payment’ tab for our parents. This allows our parents to make payments for school expenses, general school contributions (school fees), excursions, uniforms etc. online through our website. Payments can be made online using Visa or Mastercard credit or debit. A separate note with instructions on how to access the online payment has been sent home with the youngest child in each family and is also on our website. Our weekly Craft group has resumed. The ladies are starting to create items for our Father’s Day Stall. The group meets on a Wednesday morning from 9.00am at the Infants campus. Any donations of 560g Vegemite jars or any size Moccona jars can be left at the Infants office. If you would like more information please contact Kelly Vickers on 0419 162 075. Everyone is welcome
