Message from Alberta Health Services
The Future of Health Care The South Health Campus will redefine the way health care is delivered within the community by integrating leading technology, research and education with unique healing environments and progressive environmental design. There will be much offered at the state-of-the-art facility.
South Health Campus will focus on wellness, inclusive care, community connec-tions, and serving Albertans.
Welllness The campus will include a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services, with focus on wellness services and facilities. These wellness services will make illness prevention, management and community health education an important focus of the campus.
Patient & Family Centred Care At the South Health Campus, patients and families are integral members of the health care team. They are instrumental in the planning, implementation and evalu-ation of how we deliver care.
Healing Environment - People, Nature, Village With a facility theme of “People, Village, Nature”, the campus is designed to be a healing environment bringing community and nature together.
Community Connections The South Health Campus has been built with a vision to support patients as close to home and communities as possible. By connecting with community ser-vices and educating patients to optimize wellness and health promotion, they can maintain their health, without having to spend the majority of their time in the hospi-tal setting.
Serving Albertans The campus will serve Calgary and surrounding areas, but will also be a referral centre for southern Alberta. By late 2013, the SHC expects to have about 2,400 full-time staff and 180 doctors who will see about 200,000 outpatinets.
