OVERWEIGHT CORRIDOR IMPLEMENTATION Goal is to allow HCRMA to issue oversize and overweight permits online via HCRMA’s website for trucks
so that they may be in compliance with weights and measures as well with safety requirements.
Agreement with TxDOT (01/2014): HCRMA needs to negotiate an agreement with TXDOT for issuance of permits for the movement of overweight/oversize cargo and to collect a fee. HCRMA has reviewed existing overweight corridor agreements and will look to the Commission’s proposed
guidelines from the 09/2013 meeting.
Implementation of Web-based Permitting System (12/2013): HCRMA working with ProMiles to design and implement online permitting system to be made available through the HCRMA website.
Weight Scales in Mexico (03/2014): Getting scales in Mexico installed and operational
- Obtaining certification from PROFECO in Mexico for the weight scales about 1 month after installation. Weight scale operators/owners in Reynosa should also obtain certification from either Texas Dept. of Agriculture or one of their certified contractors to certify and calibrate weight scale. This can be done shortly after installation.
