  • SOUTHERN MARYLAND EMERGENCY SERVICES

    MUTUAL AID

  • MUTUAL AID AGREEMENTS

    • Each of the three respective counties have mutual aid agreements with each other for the purpose of sharing resources and to provide necessary support in serving our respective communities in times of need. These agreements were agreed upon after we all made this determination “from time to time emergency situations may develop at locations and at times in their respective Counties when assistance from neighboring emergency services agencies may enhance the rendering of prompt, effective and professional services to the public in order to promote the health, safety and general welfare of the public”

  • MUTUAL AID AGREEMENTS

    • What will be provided:

    • The various fire suppression, emergency medical, hazardous materials and special operations incident response units of a Responding Jurisdiction will respond to a request for mutual aid when deemed appropriate by the senior official of the volunteer organization providing the service upon a determination that sufficient equipment and personnel are available to respond to the mutual aid request without adversely impacting fire suppression, emergency medical, hazardous materials and special operations response services in the Responding Jurisdiction.

    • Emergency medical services may include both basic and advanced life support services/apparatus.

  • WHAT DOES THE DELIVERY OF SERVICES LOOK LIKE CURRENTLY AND WHAT IS THE HISTORY

OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS? …

  • DATA PRESENTED TODAY

    • The data I am presenting today was generated from three separate Computer Aided Dispatch software programs. Each county categorizes data according to their specific needs; it is not standardized across our counties. We all do the same thing, but we have slightly different terminologies and different computer language.

    • However, the data from the three counties is fairly consistent and provides a good overview of our trends.

  • WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

    • Our three counties have a solid partnership that works exceptionally well together. That will continue for the foreseeable future, which equates into exemplary service for our communities and a redundancy in each of our Emergency Services Departments.
