GENUITY® ROUNDUP READY 2 YIELD® SOYBEANS> More beans per pod means more bushels per acre
> This is the next generation of the Roundup Ready® trait you already trust
> Advanced trait insertion delivers more yield opportunity
> Farmers across America are seeing more 3, 4 and 5 bean pods
CLEANER FIELDS, HIGHER YIELDS®
Roundup PowerMAX® herbicide begins to deliver a lethal dose of weed-killing power directly
into the weed in minutes. And if you qualify for the Roundup Rewards® Program, you get the added
security of the new Roundup PowerMAX Warranty and the new 30-Minute Rainfast Warranty.
If you have questions about this new Roundup® herbicide, talk to your Southern States professional
or visit the Monsanto website at www.monsanto.com.
ROUNDUP READY®
> Provides simple, flexible and dependable weed control with soybean seed tolerant
to Monsanto Roundup® chemistry
LIBERTYLINK® Southern States is pleased to offer the only nonselective alternative to glyphosate-tolerant systems.
The LibertyLink® trait is available in our most trusted, high yielding soybean varieties, providing
growers the options to use Ignite® herbicide for effective weed management and farming efficiency.
> Ignite® is fast acting, killing weeds in days versus weeks
> Ignite® is labeled for use on all LibertyLink® crops including corn, soybeans, cotton and canola
CONVENTIONAL VARIETIESNot every planting situation calls for biotechnology. That’s why Southern States sets the standard
in the breeding and development of traditional and enhanced soybeans for your production needs.
STS® HERBICIDE TOLERANT BIOTECHNOLOGYIncorporating an enhanced sulfonylurea tolerance trait developed by DuPont, these innovative
Southern States soybean varieties allow post-emergent broadleaf weed control with
sulfonylurea-based herbicides such as Synchrony.
The varieties designated with RT and STS® have both Roundup® herbicide tolerance, plus the
added feature of allowing the application of Synchrony herbicide post-applied for control of
broadleaf weeds.

SAVING SOYBEAN SEED FOR REPLANTING?Seed containing the Roundup Ready® gene cannot be saved for replanting. Seeds
containing the Roundup Ready® trait and the Roundup Ready 2 Yield® trait are protected
under numerous United States patents, including Patent No. RE39,247. It is unlawful to
save Roundup Ready® soybeans or Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybeans for planting or
transfer to others for use as a planting seed.
BENEFITS OF USING NEW SOYBEAN SEED
CONVENIENCE> Highest quality and highest yielding product vs. bin-run
> Meets quality standards of seed company
> Professionally handled and rigorously tested
> Dramatically reduces splits and foreign matter
> Ensures varietal purity
> Germination tests to ensure peace of mind
> Weed-free
> Reliable seed supply in many maturities
> Access to the most elite germplasm
> Meets U.S. Federal Seed Law standards
ECONOMICS OF NEW SEED VS. BIN-RUN> Income lost by not selling as commodity grain (e.g. one bushel of bin-run seed multiplied
by the price of a soybean bushel)
> Average loss of 10-15% cleanout at harvest for bin-run seed
> Handling and transportation costs for bin-run (approx. $.35-$.75/bushel)
> Bin-run planting rates are generally 15% higher than new certified seed
> New seed yields an average of 1.8 bushel/acre more than bin-run (University yield
trials range from 1.2-5.9 bushel/acre)
LIMITED WARRANTY BENEFITS> Dealer agronomic support before and after the sale
> Risk management benefits of Roundup Rewards® (over $600 million in benefits paid)
Acceleron® is a next-generation seed treatment system designed to maximize
the performance potential of seeds beginning at planting. An integral part of
the Monsanto seed and trait development process, Acceleron® matches the most
advanced seed treatment technologies with our exclusive germplasm and traits.
With benefits for hybrids, varieties and traits across a broad geography, it
helps farmers realize greater productivity on their farm.
Disease - excellent protection from soil-borne and seed-borne diseases.
Insect - industry-leading insecticides to control secondary corn and early-season
soybean insects.
Plant Health - exclusive plant agent providing enhanced early growth and vigor
leading to higher yield potential in soybeans.
> Combines the active ingredient in Trilex® seed-applied fungicide and
Allegiance® seed-applied fungicide into one easy-to-use, low-rate product
> Provides proven protection against stand-reducing diseases
> Local systemic activity of Trilex® locks in protection where you need it, at and
below the cotyledon
> Engineered for application alone or in combination with other seed-applied
products
Surround Your Seed, Supercharge Your Yield
> Offers protection against damage caused by seedcorn maggot, soybean
aphids and overwintering bean leaf beetle
> Provides broad-spectrum protection against stand-reducing diseases such as
Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, Pythium and Phytophthora
> Multiple fungicidal modes of action combining traditional crop protection and
biological activity
> Get up to 4 to 6 extra bushels per acre vs. untreated
Plant It and the Protection Grows. Seed-applied product for soybeans combines
proven early-season insect control with protection from many significant
nematode types, including soybean cyst nematodes.
> New biological mode of action introduces revolutionary living-barrier science
> Trusted insect protection for corn growers is now available in the soybean
market for broad-spectrum insect activity, including bean leaf beetles, seed
corn maggots and soybean aphids, along with new wireworm control
> Excellent seedling and root protection in all tillage practices leads to an
average 1 to 1.5 bu/A yield increase over Gaucho® seed-applied insecticide
> Valuable seed is protected from the moment it is planted
NEW INNOVATIONS BENEFIT FOR FARMERS?
Monsanto’s 100% commitment to agriculture
Research and Development Milestones

> Pipeline: 11 advanced stage high impact products
Impact on the Farm1 (increase in national farm income)
> GM soybeans: $ 1.56 Billion
> GM corn: $ 2.00 Billion
> GM cotton: $ .27 Billion
> GM Canola: $ .031 Billion
> TOTAL $ 3.861 Billion
Industry Support
> The Beyond the Seed Program was launched by the American Seed Trade Association
(ASTA) to raise awareness and understanding of the value that goes beyond the
seed. The future success of U.S. agriculture depends upon quality seed delivered by an
industry commitment to bring innovation and performance through continued investment.

> Stronger intellectual property rights in the seed sector are associated with higher yield
growth2
> Our very preliminary estimate is that farmers get a $6 benefit for each $1 spent on
private sector research
