What’s changed in this timetable ?The route has been redesigned following an extensive consultation exercise with customers that began in December 2013. There will be two route variations with all journeys serving Cowes Park & Ride, and some journeys operated by double deck buses to provide additional capacity. The timetable is completely revised as a result. The two variations will each run every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime, every 20 minutes Sunday daytimes and every 30 minutes in the evening. The routes will be:

Newport – St Mary’s Hospital – Northwood – BAE Systems – Cowes Park & Ride – Three Gates Road – Round House – Cowes Red Jet Terminal. These journeys will be operated by brand new Enviro 200 midibuses with a capacity of 63, of which 34 will be standing.

Newport – St Mary’s Hospital – Northwood – Nodes Road – Three Gates Road – Cowes Park & Ride – Newport Road – Victoria Road – Cowes Carvel Lane. These journeys will be operated by double deck buses providing more than double the number of seats than previously with a capacity of 93, of which 14 will be standing. However during the evenings they will also be the new E200 midibuses.

An extra journey will run at 1815 from Newport to Ryde via Shanklin and Sandown in response to customer requests. The 0725 from Sandown to Newport will now start at Ryde at 0655. An additional journey will run from Sandown to Newport at 0745 on school days only due to increasing demand.

The 2140 and 2210 journeys from Ryde to Newport are retimed to maintain rail connections.

Most journeys on Mondays to Saturdays have been retimed earlier from Ryde to improve ferry connections at East Cowes.

The 0100 journey from East Cowes on Monday to Saturday will depart from directly outside the Red Funnel Terminal in order to improve the connection from ferry to bus. The 0100 journey from East Cowes on Sunday will run earlier at 0050.

From May 23rd until 5th September, route 8 will run every 30 minutes during the day on Mondays to Saturdays between Newport and Sandown.

Additional morning peak journeys have been added from Ryde with buses every 10 minutes from 0710. Times at Binstead, Wootton, Staplers and Medina Leisure Centre have been amended to improve reliability.

The first journey of the day will now start from Totland at 0725on Mondays to Saturdays and 0930 on Sundays, whilst the 1740 from Newport is extended beyond Brook to finish at Totland.This improves connections to/from Freshwater Bay at the request of customers.

An additional bus will run a shortened route 34 numbered 34A on Tuesdays serving Wootton & Havenstreet.

The route has been redesigned to cater for the new Ryde Community Clinic at Shackleton House. It will now operate a one way loop in a clockwise direction, serving Haylands, Ryde Community Clinic and Binstead before returning to Ryde via the Community Clinic.

This will result in the bus serving stops on the opposite side of the road through Haylands & Binstead.

A new service linking Newport Bus Station to River Way & St Cross Industrial Estates will commence on Tuesday 5th May. This bus will provide 3 journeys each way in both the morning and afternoon peaks. There will also be a handy stop near the back of St Mary’s Hospital.

Our popular open-top Needles Breezer route will operate again this year, linking Yarmouth with Alum Bay & The Needles Landmark Attraction via picturesque Freshwater Bay. Buses will run every 30 minutes and the route includes the cliff-hugging exhilarating ride up to the Needles Battery, high up on the cliff top. The Needles Breezer will run every day from 15th March right through to 1st November.

Our Dinosaur liveried buses will be back for 2015 linking Ryde and Yarmouth via Bembridge, Dinosaur Isle, Isle of Wight Zoo, Shanklin, Ventnor, Blackgang Chine, Freshwater Bay & Alum Bay. Buses will start running on 3rd April and there will be an increasing level of service as we move through to the main holiday season. Check the dates you intend to travel carefully to ensure your journey is running.

All of the open-top Downs Breezer buses will be operating in an anti-clockwise direction this year, linking Ryde with the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Robin Hill Adventure Park, Arreton Old Village, Amazon World, Sandown, Dinosaur Isle & Isle of Wight Zoo. The spectacular views across the Downs are a must. Buses will run every 30 minutes every day between 23rd May and 31st August (except over the Isle of Wight Festival weekend of 11th to 15th June).

The Steamer will run between 20th June and 31st August this year, linking Shanklin Esplanade with the old village, hotels, bus and rail stations. Rail connections have been improved and journeys this year will be operated by a double deck open-top bus, offering better views of the coastline.

Routes 6, 7, 22, 23, 24, 32, 33, 34, 35, 38 and 39 are unchanged.

We are happy to carry wheelchair users as well as buggies and pushchairs, please leave space for these in the designated area on the bus. The driver may request users in this area to move if a wheelchair user wants to board, please let's help everyone get on board

Well behaved dogs are welcome on our buses, you don't even have to pay but we would ask that you keep them (and other pets!) on the floor and not on the bus seats

Smoking is against the law on buses and we would also ask you to not bring alcohol or hot drinks on board. Please don't bring takeaway food on the bus, this is unpleasant for other people travelling and causes problems with greasy leftover food and wrappers

Enjoy music through earphones or chat with friends to make the journey go quicker but please consider everyone around you and keep noise down to a reasonable level. Please do not put your feet on the seats, this makes them dirty for other people

ConcessionsWe accept English national concessionary bus passes for free travel on Southern Vectis bus services between 9:30am and 11pm Monday to Friday and at any time on weekends and bank holidays. Island Residents who hold an English National Disabled Pass or an Isle of Wight Council Gold or Silver New Islander Card may also travel free at peak times on any day. Companions of C+ card holders are required to pay normal fares. Concessionary bus passes cannot be used for free travel on our Island Breezer & Coaster routes but you can purchase a concession ticket valid on Island Breezer & Coaster routes for �5 giving unlimited travel for the day. Take the bus to the best scenerythe Isle of Wight has to o�er. Island Ramblers have created a series of walks in some of the most spectacular and interesting locations, all starting and �nishing on a Southern Vectis bus route - so there's no need to take the car !

There are now seven in the series of lea�ets - available from Southern Vectis travel shops in Newport, Yarmouth and Ryde bus stations

The Barnsley Trail - Catch route 8 or the Island Coaster [seasonal] to the Wishing Well bus stop. This is a circular walk.

Ups and Downs - Shanklin to Ventnor - Catch route 3 or the Island Coaster [seasonal] to Big Mead bus stop in Church Road, Shanklin. The walk ends at the Old Station bus stop - route 3 - in Mitchell Avenue, Ventnor.

Waterside Whippingham - Catch routes 4 or 5 to the Whippingham Forge bus stop. The walk �nishes in Newport bus station.

Around Rookley - Catch route 3 to Blackwater Hollow bus stop. The walk �nishes at Rookley Country Park bus stop - route 3.

Towering Tennyson - Catch route 7, the Needles Breezer or Island Coaster [seasonal] to the Needles landmark Attraction bus stop.This is a circular walk.

Godshill & Appuldurcombe - Catch route 2 or 3 to The Hollies bus stop, Godshill (eastbound) or The Gri�n bus stop, Godshill (westbound). This is a circular walk.

Curious Carisbrooke - The walk starts & ends at Newport bus station.
