Southwest Alabama Behavioral Health Care Systems April 2013, Volume 4
IN THE LOOP— eCET and how it will affect Southwest
As most of you already know, the talk about eCET (Electronic Health Records)
has been buzzing around the office at your location. The implementation of
eCET will help push Southwest to the next level in healthcare. Just imagine not
having to send a chart to another location on doctor’s clinic day or the pleasure of
being alerted when a treatment plan is due without searching through the chart.
Yes, this would be a big step up for Southwest.
According to Netsmart, here are some benefits of eCET:
Intakes— eCET moves the intake
process along quickly and easily, while providing the flexibility to
recognize the unique traits and circumstances of each client’s situa-
tion.
Assessment—eCET’s Assessment module includes tests and re-
ports to support clinician’s work.
Medication Management—eCET’s Medication Management mod-
ule tracks agency prescribed medications, non-agency-prescribed
medications and supplements and medications the client is taking on
his or her own.
Treatment Planning—eCET’s treatment planning module is highly configurable to meet the varying work
requirements of different users and agencies. Users can create treatment plans to accommodate agency or state
-specific requirements as well as accreditation standards.
Progress Notes—with eCET, clinicians can write individual or group progress notes while viewing a treat-
ment plan outline. Each note is identified by a user-defined note label and linked to a modality and problem in
the treatment plan prior to posting. The Group Notes process is significantly expedited with the Group Wiz-
ard, where members of a particular group are automatically pre-selected based on an assigned service in their
care map.
Document Management and Workflow— As the industry moves toward a true HER, agencies need to effec-
tively manage documents and accommodate multiple digital signature for authorizations. Clinicians utilizing
eCET can use digital signatures—either through a personal identification number or electronic signature pad—
to validate completed documents. Where multiple signatures are required, documents can be electronically
routed for digital signatures.
eCET Benefits
Enables multiple digital signatures and electronic routing to support approval processes, improves documenta-
tion quality, promotes consistent service note processes, reduces amount of paperwork, allowing more time to
focus on client treatment, promote best practices through an extensive content library and resources, meets
legal, regulatory and accreditation standards, meets unique agency requirements as it is customizable, reduces
chart pulls by providing a universal access point for client charts.

Grove Hill Outpatient Renovations
Grove Hill Outpatient has a new look. Several walls were added to insure the privacy of the consumers and
therapists while in session. A new waiting area for consumers to relax in while waiting to see the doctor and/
or therapist was also added. The office managers office was expanded to give her more room to work com-
fortably and to add consumers files. The kitchen was also renovated and moved to another location in the
building.
