Waiting List

• Hydraulic reviews were conducted of each service area

• Reviewed & identified strategic hydraulic improvements to

increase capacity for waiting list locations

• Strategic hydraulic improvement projects include:

• Booster pump stations, parallel piping, and additional

reservoirs

• We have identified a short list of eight projects which provide

the most benefit for the cost

• The estimated cost to construct these eight projects is

approximately $4.6 million

• Construction of these eight projects will provide capacity for

186 waiting list locations

Supplementary Intake

• Current intake is a shared facility with the Basin

Electric Power Cooperative – Not enough

• Supplementary intake contract includes:

• Caisson is150 feet deep & 24.5 feet diameter

• 2,700 feet intake pipe with screen structure

• Notice to proceed: September 17, 2013

• Original completion date: December 14, 2014

• Caisson shaft complete March 2015

• Two micro-tunneling attempts to date

• Micro-tunnel boring machine (MTBM) along the first

alignment launched July 2015

• First incident occurred on November 1, 2015

• Pipeline was 65% complete at 1,780 feet

• Second MTBM launched July 2017

• Second incident occurred on October 4, 2017

• 1,000 feet of the 2,700 feet was installed

Supplementary Intake

1. Current Intake is shared with Basin Electric

2. Agreement for 10,600 gpm

3. 17,600 gpm is needed

Supplementary Intake

• Current plan - Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) of 36”

Welded Steel Pipe

• Easement and construction license from the United States

Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is required for the

intake

• The local offices of the Bureau of Reclamation and the

USACE are fully engaged with the project

• We are waiting on information on environmental impacts

from the contractor so the federal review process can be

completed
