Kopernik Observatory & Science Center (KOSC) invites Boy Scouts to explore the universe and discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering and math through the Merit Badge programs offered at KOSC. These exciting overnight programs feature

an indoor sleepover or outdoor campout on KOSC grounds, and a continental breakfast.

PROGRAM: Space Exploration & Robotics Merit Badge Workshops Boy Scouts are invited to attend an overnight at KOSC and complete two merit badges. From 12:30 – 5:30 in the afternoon, scouts can complete the Space Exploration Merit Badge. Activities include building and launching model rockets. During the evening (7 – 10:30) Scouts can complete the Robotics Merit Badge and will explore the field of robots by designing, building and program a robot. Using LEGO® Wedo robotics scouts learn how robots move, sense the environment and understand how to control robots through programming. Scouts will plan their own lunchtime and evening meals. Continental breakfast on Sunday morning is provided.

PREREQUISITE: For Space Exploration MB Requirement 2 must be completed prior to arrival.

COST: $55 per Scout or participating sibling, both merit badge programs

$35 per Scout or participating sibling in Space Exploration merit badge only $30 per Scout or participating sibling in Robotics merit badge only $6 per adult leader/chaperone or nonparticipating sibling staying overnight
