GALAXY FORUM

• LAPAN in collaboration with Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences‐ITB

• The aims are : ‐ To increase public awareness of the importance of research 

in the field related to outer space.‐ To introduce the Moon observatory development programs 

and its benefits for research and education, including science education in universities and secondary schools.

‐ Sharing knowledge about the progress of space science in the Asia Pacific region.

‐ To build networking between researcher and educator.

International School of Equatorial and Low Latitude Ionosphere (ISELION) 

• LAPAN in collaboration with STE‐Lab Nagoya University, SCOSTEP, Kyoto University and NICT

• The aim of the event was to develop knowledge, capacity and capability of the participant regarding solar activity and space weather effect on the earth with suppression on the ionosphere at magnetic equator region and low latitude.

• Participant : 40 participant (15 from abroad e.q Malaysia, Philipines, Vietnam, Egypt, India and Kazakhstan)

The 1st Space Exploration and KiboUtilization Workshop for Asia

• Banana Ripening Study on 3D Clinostat (the banana group of School Of Life Sciences and Technology‐ITB)  Results of the 3D clinostat experiments showed that the ripening would be delayed due to the microgravity environment. The researchers would like to use the Kibo facility to conduct in‐flight experiments and to assess the impact of microgravity in the ripening of fruits

• Development of Nano satelite for Education and opportunity to use Kibo Space Lab (Surya University)  The research involves acquiring skills to develop satellite operating system and applications by using telecommunication test between on‐orbit NanoSat and two ground stations.

• Exploring Biomedical research possibilities in ISS/Kibo research on malaria parasite Suggestion to vaccine study and development of curative medicine (Eijkman Institute)

• Materials Science Research Composites and its application Introduction of the characteristics and usage of metal aluminum based composite material in microgravity environment (University of Indonesia)

• The students submit proposal to conduct experiment about microgravity using clinostat

• Each selected proposals received clinostat and the students should do their proposal experiment in their school.

• During the experiment the students gave the experiment’s progress report  twice.
