    Space Use Policy

    Department of Theatre

    Rhynsburger Theatre/ Corner Playhouse

    The Rhynsburger Theatre and Corner Playhouse are the primary performance venuesunder the auspices of the Department of Theatre. During the academic year and summersessions these facilities are exclusively available for departmental auditions, rehearsalsand performances supervised by the following in descending priority: Department ofTheatre faculty, staff, graduate students, undergraduate students. ses of these facilitiesfor purposes other than departmental programs are sub!ect to approval by the departmentchair and technical director.

    "ndividuals or organi#ations that are not under the direct supervision or sponsorship oftheatre faculty$ staff may submit an application for use of either venue only during theinterim period that occurs following the final exam wee% at the end of the &pring

    semester and prior to the beginning of the &ummer Repertory season. The departmentchair and technical director retain the authority to deny use of either venue for anyreason.

    'll individuals or organi#ations granted access to the Rhynsburger Theatre or CornerPlayhouse must adhere to the following re(uirements:

    'll individuals or organi#ations will be assessed minimum rental fee of )*++,

    which must be received one month prior to the performance date.

    'll individuals or organi#ations will accept responsibility for sponsoring and

    supervising the program by assuring that the scheduled facilities are used for thepurposes for which they were scheduled.

    'll individuals or organi#ations must contract a stage manager approved by the

    technical director to oversee the all rehearsals and performances.

    'll individuals or organi#ations will accept responsibility for additional costs

    incurred for e(uipment, supplies and running crews approved by technicaldirector. Costumes will not be supplied.

    'll individuals or organi#ations will assume financial responsibility for damage to

    university property or facilities that might occur in connection with the scheduledactivity.

    '' -- and /c0ee ++1 are utili#ed exclusively by Department of Theatre faculty and

    graduate teaching assistants for classroom instruction during the academic year andsummer session2 therefore, access to these spaces shall not be granted through centralscheduling. The department chair determines access to these spaces for instructionalpurposes during the process of finali#ing the schedule of courses for each semester andretains the right to deny access for activities that are not sponsored by the Department ofTheatre.

    'ccess for rehearsals, wor%shops or performances during unscheduled evenings,wee%ends or intersession periods can be scheduled by submitting a written re(uest to theassigned graduate student responsible for scheduling. Priority use of the space will begiven to the following in descending order: Department of theatre faculty$ staff, graduate

    students and undergraduate students.

    "ndividuals and$or organi#ations that are not under the direct supervision or sponsorshipof theatre faculty$ staff will not be granted access to either of these spaces. 'llorgani#ations or individuals granted access must adhere to the following re(uirements:

    'ccess to the space cannot be used as a source of income for an organi#ation or

    individual.

    Consumption of food or beverages for purposes other than approved receptions is

    strictly prohibited.

    'll trash must be placed in a trashcan or removed from the facility.

    Chal% or white boards must be erased prior to departure.

    Des%s and chairs shall be returned to their normal facility configuration.
