Spanish 1 Course Syllabus: NDHS 2018-2019 Course Description: This course is an introduction to Spanish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and culture. Students will learn basic greetings and goodbyes, numbers, simple vocabulary and verb structures, how to tell time, and how to describe people and things. Spanish 1 Course Syllabus: NDHS 2018-2019

Course Description: This course is an introduction to

Spanish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and

culture. Students will learn basic greetings and

goodbyes, numbers, simple vocabulary and verb

structures, how to tell time, and how to describe people

and things. Students will also study various aspects of

culture (art, history, literature, geography).

We will be covering chapters 1-4 from our textbook: Vista Higher Learning Descubre 1. Students

are expected to complete all assignments on time (see late/makeup work policy). Assignments may

include, but are not limited to:

Oral/verbal exercises

Daily bell work

In-Class/Homework assignments

Culture Projects or assignments for each chapter

Short quizzes for each chapter

Chapter Tests

Participation grades

Classroom Rules and Expectations

1. No food; all drinks must be in a sealed bottle or

container

2. Always be in FULL dress code

3. No cell phones unless specified by teacher

4. Complete all work and turn in ON TIME.

5. Comply with any noise level guidelines given by

teacher

6. Participate in all group activities 100%

7. Come to class on time and prepared EVERY DAY!

Late/Makeup Work Policy

1. If a homework/class work assignment is not

complete upon due date, 50% will automatically

be deducted from final grade. Student will have

until the next class period to turn in late assign-

ment. After this, assignment will be recorded as

a 0.

2. If student is absent on the day work is assigned,

he/she will have 1 class period after receiving

assignment to turn in for full credit.

3. If a student is absent on the day work is due,

he/she will be expected to turn it in on his/her

day of return to class.

4. If a student misses a test/quiz, it is his/her re-

sponsibility to set up a time with Mrs. Moody

for a make-up. No make-up tests/quizzes will

be given during class time.
