Nondestructive testing is one of Spartan’s

programs that prepares graduates for

What is NDT?

 

Nondestructive testing is the examination

of an object or material in a manner which

does not aect its future usefulness.

Nondestructive tests are performed to

determine internal or external imperfec-

tions to determine structure, composition

or properties, or to measure geometric

characteristics-without aecting the form,

t or function of the test object. You can

complete a diploma program in as little as

18 months or an associate degree in 23

months.

Nondestructive Testing (Diploma)

 These programs prepare students for entry-level employment with many inspection compa-

nies. Students learn to operate equipment used in making magnetic particle and liquid dye

penetrant inspections. They also learn the basic principles of radiation safety, metallurgy,

ultrasonic inspection, eddy current leak detection, and codes and standards. Students

process and interpret lm using x-ray equipment. The associate degree courses in quality

control provide the technical training for professional certication. The knowledge gained

by the additional general education courses enhances the students’ background and intel-

lectual prociency so they are more competitive in their chosen profession.
