Speaker Profile Since the early 1980s, James Brew, FCSI, AIA has been designing buildings and communiDes stretching from the Midwestern U.S. to Europe and the far East. His experDse is in creaDng whole‐system, fully‐integrated building and community designs through energy, water and resource efficiency, climate‐ responsive design, and designing indoor environments that are healthy and producDve for humans. He has provided design and consulDng services on hundreds of projects around the world including residences, historic buildings, offices, laboratories, retail and public projects for corporaDons, campuses and communiDes. Much of James’ current work centers around creaDng livable communiDes for a reduced‐carbon and post‐peak‐oil world. His recent research includes finding sustainable soluDons to feeding our growing urban populaDon and learning from communiDes around the world that are creaDng “real community” soluDons.
