After roof panels have been installed, 2” x 4” lumber is secured along each side of the ridge to form a support for the ridge cap. Special 1-1/2” self-tapping wood screws with neoprene washers are used to secure the ridge cap to the roof. This ensures that no nails or screws are exposed to rain or to the weather.
