SPECIAL CONCESSIONS

(See item 8 of the ISM Conditions for Private Music Tuition)

2. LESSONS: A series consists of a block of 4 weeks of lessons and must be paid for in advance on the last lesson of the previous block. Alternatively, lessons can be booked after a fixed day of the month (your payday) for however many lessons you are expected to have in that month, again, paid for in advance on the last previously booked lesson. Unjustified prolonged absences may result in loss of your time slot. Also it must be clarified that in order to prevent delays to other students, the length of your lesson includes the time it takes for you to come in and out of the studio or teaching room, and the appropriate warm-up or set-up, as well as booking and payments. 3. PAYMENT: Payments can be made by cheque, cash, direct transfer or standing order. If paying by cheque or cash: payment for each series must be made in advance on the last

lesson of the previous block. If paying by direct transfer/standing order: make sure that the payment is made at the latest

2 or 3 days before the last lesson of the current series, as some online banking systems do not show transactions made on the same day.

If either you or I are planning to go on holiday, lessons will simply not be booked for that period. However make sure that the next block of lessons after the holidays is booked at the latest by the day before the first lesson of the block. In this case, payment can be made on the first lesson of the series.

If payment is not received/confirmed by the deadline above, the lesson will not take place, as other arrangements will have been made for the time slot for that day.

4. HOLIDAYS: See item 3 above. 5. MISSED LESSONS: If a lesson is cancelled up to the day before it is to take place, it will be carried forward. If a pupil misses this deadline for whatever reason, this lesson will have to be charged for. Exceptions can only be made for extreme circumstances supported by documentation or physical evidence (such as freak weather conditions, natural disasters or terrorist attacks directly affecting the travel route, or a signed doctor’s certificate in case of serious illness) as long as it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that the pupil could not possibly have anticipated his/her condition by the deadline. Delays caused by normal weather, non-critical ilness, traffic or public transport complications cannot be exempted. In the unlikely event that I have to postpone a lesson I will endeavour to let you know as soon as possible. For this reason, make sure that I have a phone number where I can reach you at any reasonable time (home, work, mobile). In this case, your lesson will simply be carried forward. 6. TERMINATION OF TUITION: Tuition can be terminated by the pupil/guardian at any time. If there are lessons left in the block which have already been paid for, these will be refunded as long as notice is given by the day before the lesson. However see item 7(b) 3rd paragraph on the main agreement for reasons why remaining lessons may not be refundable. 7. SPECIAL CONCESSIONS: The concessions listed in this document are valid until changed by mutual consent, such changes confirmed in writing and signed by both of us.
