Welcome to Issue 3 of “In The Zone” – this edition focuses on the State Pennant Playoffs with
Zone 10 tasting success in 3 Grades and also the results of the Zone Triples & Fours
Championships. Zone 10 Management has also announced the proposed start date for 2014
Pennants Season which will be Saturday 22nd March, 2014. This date will be confirmed at the
earliest opportunity. Also, readers of “In The Zone” can now log onto the Zone 10 website
www.zone10.org.au and at the bottom of the Homepage, you will be able to view the latest
edition of “ITZ” at your leisure. It is hoped that you let all your bowling friends and family
know about this link so that they too can keep up to date with the happenings in and involving
Zone 10.
There will be a SPECIAL STATE PENNANTS PLAYOFF edition that will be published Wednesday 7th August which will give a full wrap of results of Zone 10 clubs competing. You can also keep in touch

The 2013 Zone 10 Rookies Championships will commence with the Singles being played on 10th
& 11th August and the Pairs 17th & 18th August, both being hosted by The Hills BC. The Singles
has an entry list of 31 players from 12 clubs and will commence at 9.00am. The Pairs is a little
lighter on with entries, with 13 teams entered, representing 12 clubs. Good luck to all in these

The 2013 Zone 10 Championship of Club Champions will commence on Saturday 10th August
with the Champion Pairs kicking off at Toongabbie but with the only 13 of our 25 zone clubs
represented. In the Singles, we have 17 clubs represented and this will be played 17th & 18th
August at Carlingford. The winners of these events will then represent Zone 10 at Belrose BC in
November in the NSW State Championship of Champions. Please check our website for draw

NO LATER THAN THURSDAY 29th AUGUST 2013.
In accordance with Clause 18 of the RNSWBA Ltd Constitution, Preliminary Notice is hereby
given that the 133rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the RNSWBA Ltd will be held Thursday
19 September 2013 commencing 1.00pm at the Bass Suite, Level 2, 99 York Street, Sydney.
In accordance with Clause 11.10 of the RNSWBA Ltd Constitution, nominations for the Board of
Directors must be lodged with the Chief Executive Officer before 1.00pm Monday 5 August 2013
being forty-five (45) days prior to the date of the AGM.
Nomination forms are available online via website www.rnswba.org.au, through your club’s
Bowlsbox or from the offices of the RNSWBA Ltd on request. Any queries regarding the AGM
should be directed to the Executive Secretary.
In accordance with Clause 20.1 of the RNSWBA Ltd Constitution, all items of business and
notices of motion must be in writing and received by the Chief Executive Officer before 1.00pm
on Thursday 8 August 2013 being forty-two (42) days prior to date of the AGM.
In accordance with Clause 24.1(c) of the RNSWBA Ltd Constitution, each Zone Association shall
advise the Chief Executive Officer of its State Councillor before 1.00pm on Thursday 22 August
2013 being twenty-eight (28) days prior to the date of the AGM.

Club Pairs Final at Brush Park Bowling Club:
Frank Harrison and Kevin Cooper were victorious over Greg Doherty and Peter Murphy in the final of the Brush Park Bowling Club pairs final. The combination pair of Greg and Peter took an early lead and it was maintained until the 20th end when Frank and Kevin took over the lead. In an exciting last end Frank and Kevin were able to score 3 more shots to take out the final 18-14.

The competition rounds will run over 6 consecutive weeks until the final round on Wednesday 11th September. Sides comprise of 1 team x Pairs + 1 team x Triples and games are played over 25 ends with trial ends commencing at 10.10am and play at 10.30am. Post sectional play will consist of the Winners of Section a & 2 in A & B Grade and in C Grade the best ranked side will be awarded 1st spot and receive a Bye and the winners of the remaining 6 sections will Full “Conditions of Play” are available by logging onto Zone 10 website www.zone10.org.au
Last Sunday saw Zone 10 A, B & Juniors take on the very strong Zone 12 at St Johns Park BC.
In a very tight tussle Zone 10 “A” lost to Zone 12 with the final overall a very close result .
The “B’s” came away with a very strong 83-58 win and the Junior’s also capped the day off
with a dominant win 53 – 31.

A blonde goes into a nearby store and asks a clerk if she can buy the TV in the corner. The clerk looks at her and says that he doesn't serve blondes, so she goes back home and dyes her hair
black. The next day she returns to the store and asks the same thing, and again, the clerk said he doesn't serve blondes. Frustrated, the blonde goes home and dyes her hair yet again, to a shade
of red. Sure that a clerk would sell her the TV this time, she returns and asks a different clerk this time. To her astonishment, this clerk also says that she doesn't serve blondes. The blonde
asks the clerk, "How in the world do you know I am a blonde?" The clerk looks at her disgustedly and says, "That's not a TV, it's a microwave!"
