across AFOC? A new key card is
now required. If you still have
the current key card, a ticket will
have to be pulled until the key card is exchanged
at AFOC's Student Store. Hours are M-TH, 7:30
am to 8:00 pm and Fridays, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.

YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM
The Young Adult Program is located at AFOC.
It serves minors that want to earn their high
school diploma and learn a trade concurrently.
In the month of October, the program reports a
record number of 66 credit slips issued for stu-
dents. Congratulations to the students, staff and
teachers. Keep up the good work!
2016 VIVA LATINOS COMPETITION
Instructor Alma Blanco was proud to report
that our students in the Cosmetology and
Barbering programs competed in the 2016
Viva Latinos Competition sponsored by
L'Oreal on Nov. 7, 2016. The competition
was tough, but our students demonstrated
their skills and talent very well. The results
were as follows:

GOOGLE TOOLS AND DRIVE WORKSHOP
Date: Thursday, December 08, 2016
Time: 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm
This online workshop will introduce using differ-
ent Google Tools in the classroom. The main
focus of the workshop will be Google Drive,
where participants will format and share docu-
ments for collaboration, create online forms, build
online presentations (slideshows), share with col-
leagues and/or students, import and export differ-
ent file formats, organize files and folders, and
search for specific files.
Prerequisites: All participants must have a Google
account and basic computer skills. Google ac-
counts can be created at http://gmail.google.com.

CAFETERIA NOW OPEN
Do you know that AFOC has a cafeteria on the
3rd floor? It is open for breakfast, lunch, and
dinner. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to
12:45 pm and Monday to Thursday, 5:00 pm to
7:45 pm. They have hot and cold meals and
drinks...check it out...you will like our food!
