About us
Asif Lighting Equipment Trading was established in 1991 and is specialized in the design and installation of Airfield Ground
Lighting (AGL) Systems for Runways and Helipads, Navigational Aids and Instrument Landing Systems, in accordance with the
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommendations. In the recent past, we
have expanded our range of services to include Air Traffic Control Systems (ATC), Radio Communication, Aircraft Warn- ing Lights and
Baggage Handling Systems. To complement and support our growth and customer requirements, we also design and manufacture
control panels for AGL systems in conformity to FAA and ICAO standards.

The design, supply and installation of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems is the
core business of the company. The full range of airfield lighting equip- ment, from
the leading European or American manufacturers, including ele- vated and inset
runway, taxiway and approach lights, isolating transformers,
cables and connectors plus power and control equipment including Con-
stant Current Regulators and digital or hard wired Control and Monitoring
Systems can be supplied for any airfield requirement, from a simple airstrip to a
multi-runway CAT I, CAT II or CAT III International Airport.
The particular techniques used for navigation in the air are dependent on
whether the aircraft is flying under visual flight rules (VFR) or instrument
flight rules (IFR). In the crowded airspace at busy airports and when flying in
adverse weather conditions and poor visibility, Navigational Aids play an
essential and critical role in safe operation of aircraft under IFR. We have
qualified personnel available to undertake site surveys, design, installation,
testing and commissioning services for the range of Navigational Aids includ-
ing Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Range
(DVOR), Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN), Distance Measuring Equipment
(DME) and Non-Directional Beacons (NDB).
The operations of ground based Air Traffic Control (ATC) to direct aircraft
through controlled and non-controlled airspace, approaching to and land-
ing on the runway and on the ground to the parking apron are very com- plex.
The ATC's primary purpose is to provide information and support to
pilots, organize traffic flow and prevent collisions. We provide site surveys,
installation, testing and commissioning of ATC systems with complimentary
services such as meteorological equipment, radio communication equip- ment
and voice switches.
Helipads are becoming more and more common, particularly in associa-
tion with high rise buildings, where in some places it has become com-
pulsory to have a helipad on this type of structure. We can design, sup-
ply, install and commission any type of helipad lighting system from a
simple circle of lights around the perimeter of the helipad, to a complex
system including surface floodlights, landing direction lights, approach
angle guidance systems, Illuminated wind direction indicators and loca-
tion beacons, all conforming to the relevant ICAO and FAA specifica- tions.
In addition we can supply various custom made control panels,
some of which incorporate remote control, radio control from the heli-
copter or intensity control of the lights

Turnkey Airport Design and Supply Services
Obstruction Lighting, also known as Aircraft Warning Lights or Obstacle
Lights are installed on tall structures such as high rise buildings, transmission
towers, chimneys, bridge supports, etc. in order to make the structures
more visible to aircraft in the vicinity. The technical requirements of these
types of systems, with regard to light quantity, position, intensity and colour
vary, depending on the height of the structure and its location relative to flight
paths or airports. We have supplied hundreds of these systems, and
can offer a full range of services from planning and design, including obtain- ing
local authority approvals, through supply, testing and commissioning to long term
maintenance contracts to keep the systems operating correctly.
We provide consultancy services for design, installation, supervision, testing and
commissioning of all components that go into the building of an airport. With our
experience in the various aspects of airport services and well aware
of the demands that must be fulfilled, we provide turnkey solutions, from
project planning to sign-off. This is carried out with collaboration with well
organizations of international repute. We are a single point of contact for
major projects.
Baggage Handling Systems BHS Bird Control Systems
Transporting checked luggage from ticket counter to areas where the bags can
be loaded onto aircraft, and transporting baggage from in coming air-
craft to the correct baggage carrousel is one of the most complex tasks in an
airport. The Baggage Handling System must identify every single item of
luggage and monitor its progress through the system in order for it to be
quickly and accurately delivered to its final destination. We provide design,
supply and installation of mechanical, electrical and software components for the
Baggage Handling System.
Bird strikes are a huge problem to the airline industry, from both a pas-
senger safety aspect and a cost aspect, as repairs to aircraft engines and the
grounding of aircraft are extremely expensive. To minimise the bird
strike problem more and more airports are employing one of the devices
available to reduce the number of birds that gather on the airfield, from
high frequency loud hailers to various mechanical devices. We represent a
number of leading manufacturers, hence can provide various products
and services with regard to bird control. We have a team who can analyse the
location and provide the best cost efficient solutions.
