GeVentor GEV019ProductSpecification
The GeVentor GEV019 has beendeveloped in response to the COVID-19pandemic. The GeVentor is Australiandesigned and made. Supplied by GekkoMedical Pty Ltd. We have been deemedeligible for the manufacture and sale forthe GeVentor under the COVID-19exemption.
The GeVentor GEV019 is a gas driven, intermittent, mandatory, "real world" ventilator -simple, robust and reliable.
Key Design Facts.
Operating principles.Using easy to train principles, ICU operatorswould utilise the device primarily by pre-setting the I:E (inspiration:expiration) timersand then adjusting oxygen/air (FiO₂) mix asrequired. By entering the patients height theunit will calculate the starting Volume and goto Volume Control Ventilation.

Citrex Analyser. The GeVentor has undergone systemicdurability testing for electrical, softwareand mechanical fitness using the Citrex H4Analyser. "The Citrex H4 Analyser is a highlyaccurate device ro measure flow andvarious pressures and thus calculate a largenumber of ventilation parameters."
GeVentor pulse wave analysisThe GeVentor Ventilator prototype has been tested using the Citrix H4 GasAnalyser to validate various design factors. Wave-forms produced have beenpositively received by clinical reviewers.
“the GeVentor has the simplicity of a Bird Ventilator but with the addition of a“brain” to allow the device to adapt to time and pressure controls”
Doug Paxton, Senior Clinician, Ballarat Anaesthetist Practice

Unit Features and Control
While not as sophisticated as the "top end" ventilators this unit will provide an adjustableresistance, compliance and expiration cycle. The unit uses a set pressure hold andvariable flow control to operate. Using easy to train principles, ICU operators would utilisethe device primarily by pre-setting the I:E (inspiration:expiration) timers and thenadjusting oxygen/air FiO₂ mix as required, selecting either Volume Controlled Ventilationor Pressure Controlled Ventilation.
Pressure RegulatedVolume Control (PRVC)will be achieved through aseries of regulators in theair and oxygen deliverysystems and timers in theelectronics.
Plateau Pressure limit is set in the regulators and physically limited by overpressurevalves. Dual pressure regulators in series ensure pressure spikes are not possible. Maxpressure cut off will also be backed by a pressure sensor which senses maximumpressure set on the system which can also trigger inspiration – expiration in case ofmaximum volume being reached before the end of an inspiration cycle. Mechanical andelectronic pressure relief set at 70 cmH₂O and 50 cmH₂O are provided on the unit.
PEEP will be provided initially by off the shelf tested mechanical PEEP valves available.Setting from 5 – 25 cmH₂O typical range. RMVS is pre-set to a range of 1:3 but can bemanipulated to any ratio desired in the normal range through the inspiration andexpiration timers. Tidal Volume is controllable from 200 – 1,500 ml through pressureand timers. Respiratory rate range from 5 - 30 breaths / min is available on the unit.
Power supply will accept 110 - 240VAC @50Hz. Gas supply to patient can be variedanywhere from 21% -100% oxygen. The oxygen ratio will be displayed on the frontpanel but confirmation will occur via patient response.
Patient circuit*: All systems will connect to 22mm OD standard connector systems.Patient mounted delivery systems will be mostly off the shelf style equipment. An HMEfilter will be fitted between the main drive unit and the patient. The unit has been testedand is capable of operating with a continuous humidifier system.
*Patient circuit not provided with unit
