Warranty Prairie Cabinetry hereby warrants its products to the original purchaser, a one year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and conditions. This warranty begins upon the date of delivery and runs for one year. This warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective item and is at the discretion of Prairie Cabinetry. This warranty does not cover unfinished product. This warranty does not cover defects caused by improper installation, handling, storage, modifications or assembly, exposure to the elements, abuse or negligence. Any product used for any purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally intended is not covered by this warranty. Normal wear and tear of product is not covered by this warranty. This warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective part and does not include the cost of installation of replacement product, removal or transportation of defective product. Natural woods vary in color and grain patterns as they age. Cabinet colors may change over time due to exposure to light and other environmental conditions. These variations are considered natural and are not covered by this warranty. Prairie reserves the right to alter design, specifications and materials without obligation to make similar changes to products previously manufactured. If a warranty claim is filed after a style or product is no longer manufactured by Prairie, we reserve the right to honor the warranty with a similar looking substitute. Prairie cannot guarantee that the finish of the replaced components will exactly match the finish of the original items due to the natural aging process that all wood products go through. This limited warranty, which is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, shall constitute the entire liability of Prairie Cabinetry and the exclusive remedy for breach thereof. Prairie Cabinetry shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any kind. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This limited warranty gives you specific rights, which may vary from state to state. Merchandise is not to be returned without proper written authorization from Prairie Cabinetry.

Policies & Procedures Order Processing Submit orders on approved Prairie order forms via fax or email (see requirements below). Phone orders are not accepted due to potential for communication errors. Incomplete orders will not be processed until all information is received. Electronic Orders Your email must be registered in order to send/receive orders electronically via email instead of fax. Once registering, all order communication including expedites, warranties and revisions must be emailed and can no longer be faxed. See Email Registration form for further detail and requirements. Order Acknowledgements An acknowledgement is sent via fax or email verifying our interpretation of your order within two (2) business days. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within 2 business days, contact Customer Service to verify the order was received. The acknowledgement will list a Sales Order (SO#). This SO# drives everything in the factory. Please always reference this number on all correspondence and phone calls. The dealer is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the acknowledgement and advising factory of any corrections. If an item has been entered incorrectly, simply make all changes on the acknowledgement and fax back to the factory immediately. Acknowledgements will be corrected and returned to you stamped “Revised”. Failure to notify the factory of an acknowledgement error will be taken as acceptance of the order as acknowledged and Prairie will not be held responsible. Order Changes All changes to acknowledgements must be submitted in writing. No verbal changes are allowed. We recommend you write changes on the original acknowledgement and fax it back to factory. In order to manufacture and deliver product on a short lead time, it is vitally important to advise of any changes or corrections within 24 hours. Corrections & changes received by 9:00 AM CST on the Friday after acknowledgement is received will be no charge. Changes made between 9:00 AM CST on Friday and 12:00 Noon CST on Monday will be assessed a 25% change fee. Absolutely no changes can be made after 12:00 Noon CST on Monday as parts are in production. Expedite Orders This rush system takes precedence over standard orders. Expedite orders must be faxed on an Expedite form. Writing “rush” on a standard order form has no effect on lead times. In order to preserve this program, Prairie must limit orders to no more than two (2) cabinets per Expedite order, unless pre-approved by Customer Service. Expedite orders have an 18% upcharge. Due to tight lead times, no changes are allowed on Expedite orders once placed. Most Expedite orders are manufactured within 6 -10 working days and then shipped. Actual delivery time will vary based on product, dealer location and shipping method.

Warranty Orders Warranty orders must be faxed on a Warranty form and must list the Sales Order (SO#) of the original order. Verbal orders are not accepted due to potential communication errors. Warranty orders have the highest priority in the factory. If the warranty order is due to a factory defect, specify no charge and give a detailed explanation. No charge replacements can only be made if it is a replacement of an identical item. The only exception to this is if the issue deals with an incorrect shipment. If the Warranty order is due to a dealer or consumer issue, still submit a Warranty form and the replacement product will be invoiced to the dealer. No changes are allowed on Warranty orders. Most Warranty orders are manufactured within five (5) working days and then shipped. Actual delivery time will vary based on product, dealer location and shipping method. Freight Charges Drop Ship Charges: Cabinet orders totaling $1,000 net and up are delivered with no extra freight charges to approved dealer locations. Cabinet orders totaling $999 net cost and less will incur additional drop ship charges. Contact your local Prairie representative or Customer Service for drop charge information in your area. Job Site Delivery Charges: Job site delivery is available in select markets when freight forwarders are not available. Charge is $500 net and charge is per stop or location. Additional charges may apply depending on location. Job Site Delivery form must be included with original order. All requirements on Job Site Delivery form must be met, or additional charges will be assessed. - Job site must be within a 25 mile radius of the dealer.

Contact Customer Service for deliveries outside 25 miles. - An accurate map and directions must be submitted. Route

must be legally accessible by a semi-tractor and a 53-foot trailer.

- Adequate help must be present at job site at time of delivery. Two person minimum and must be capable of unloading cabinetry. The driver will wait no more than 15 minutes to start unloading. If the driver is required to help unload to the ground, extra charges will apply.

- Dealer representative must be present at time of delivery, unless release is signed on jobsite form.

Policies & Procedures Shipping Damage & Warranty Claims If shipment shortage occurs or if damage is obvious at time of delivery, the dealer should note the problem on the delivery receipt. Concealed damage must be reported within 60 days of delivery in order to receive no charge replacement. Most issues can be handled with Customer Service; however, Prairie reserves the right to request a factory representative to inspect product prior to replacement in extreme cases involving multiple pieces. All other issues will come under our written warranty. Returned Goods Policy Product cannot be returned to factory without a Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) number issued by Customer Service. Product must be returned in manner specified on RGA form in order to have credit issued. Terms of Sale Any account with open invoices beyond 26 days will be considered delinquent. Scheduling production and/or shipment of orders for delinquent accounts may be put on hold until the account is made current, unless prior arrangements have been made with Prairie’s Credit Department. A finance charge of 2.0% per month (24% APR) will be assessed on any past due invoices. All past due balances and finance charges must be paid prior to account reapplying for open account status. Once an account has fallen into delinquent status, there may be a term of 6-12 months where non-standard terms are used. These terms will be determined on an individual basis by Prairie’s Credit Department.

Computer Design Software Design programs are a tool to help you through the design process and beneficial when quoting a job. Design programs will not have perfect graphics and will allow you to modify cabinetry without including the required upcharges. Cautions and Guidelines: - Will not have perfect graphics - Allow you to manipulate cabinetry without applying

required upcharges - Fractions are not visible on the quote – add a note - All changes to a cabinet must include charges that

apply and notes explaining the modifications made to that cabinet

- All dimensions must be noted for all modified cabinetry and items built to your specifications

Prairie will accept cabinet orders generated by 20-20 only if it includes the following: - Order cover sheet - Cabinet list using Quote Report and default set to

Manufacturing Code & Descriptions - All other required forms, ex. Specialty Finish

Agreement. Prairie will generate an acknowledgement based on the information provided by the designer. Do not assume the factory knows what you want. When in doubt – spell it out, sketch it out, or both. Promptly review the order acknowledgements. The designer is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the acknowledgement and advising the factory of corrections. If the factory does not receive a change request, it will be understood as acceptance of the order as acknowledged. Prairie will not be held responsible. When using any design program, the designer must reference the manufacturer’s specification and price book to ensure accuracy when quoting. Dovetail Drawer Box Adjustment Drawer Removal Drawers may be easily removed as follows:

1. Reach below drawer on both sides and squeeze tabs on front locking device to release slide. Pull straight out to remove drawer box.

2. To install drawer box, place on runners and close

drawer to engage front locking device. Height Adjustment

Self-Aligning Feature Drawer alignment is easy. Double-captive rollers ensure proper drawer front alignment. After installation is complete, just reinsert drawers and close firmly. The drawers will self-align to bring all fronts into the proper position.

Cabinet Care & Cleaning Everyday Cabinet Care It is important to wipe up any spills and watermarks as they occur. Excessive moisture is one of the worst enemies of any wood and finish. Prairie’s fine furniture finish is durable and moisture resistant, but it is not moisture proof. Clean your cabinets as needed with a lint-free cloth, dampened with warm water only. Use a very mild soap and warm water only if needed. To remove grease, use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water. After wiping and cleaning an area, dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. What to Avoid Avoid the use of scouring pads, harsh chemicals, powdered cleansers or any ammonia-based products to clean your cabinetry. These items will dull and harm your finish. Do not use a dishcloth to wipe your cabinets, since it may contain remnants of grease and other contaminants. Avoid draping damp or wet towels over a door or drawer front. Over time, this constant moisture will cause permanent water damage.

Controlling Humidity and Moisture Wood’s natural response to change in humidity is much more dramatic than the average person realizes. The degree of changes can range up to three-quarters of an inch from summer to the winter months. Below is a table showing (a) how much a cabinet door panel is likely to shrink in low humidity, (b) how much a cabinet door is likely to expand in excess humidity, and (c) the total potential range of dimension changes from a muggy summer to a cold dry winter. During manufacturing, we strive to keep the air in the factory between 40% to 45% relative humidity during the complete manufacturing process. Total Potential Movement of Solid Wood Panels

Excessive variations in humidity will cause noticeable changes including, but not limited to:

- White lining of panels - Excessive gaps or overlapping of doors - Warping - Open joints - Paint cracking or lifting

Prairie Cabinetry’s warranty does not apply if product is exposed to extremes in temperature or humidity. Steps Consumers Can Take To Protect Real Wood Furnishings - Monitor & Maintain Your Humidity: Keep an eye on the humidity inside the home. Reasonably accurate

digital thermometer-hygrometer units are available from general goods retailers and hardware stores.

- Maintain the humidity between 30% and 45% at all times. There are several ways this may be accomplished. Installing a whole-house humidifier on the furnace is the best method for dry climates. Running a portable humidifier in key areas also helps. In very humid climates, air conditioning helps to dry down the air to the desired range.

- Don’t Over Do It: Significant condensation on windows is a sign that humidity levels are too high for outside temperature conditions in cold weather.

- Wood’s Response: It is important to understand that finished wood responds to humidity over several weeks or as long as two months. It takes time before the wood returns to normal after any correction to the environment.

Warped Doors Prairie’s doors are manufactured under strict tolerances and in a moisture controlled environment. Warping of doors is unusual. Often times adjusting the depth on the hinges will correct any doors that appear warped (See Hinge Adjustment). In most cases, depth adjustment on the opposite corner from the problem area will level out the door. Doors that appear warped must hang through a complete heating and cooling cycle and must be warped a minimum of ¼” before replacement will be considered. To determine if a door is warped, remove the door and lay on a flat surface. If the corners extend more than a ¼” above the surface when alternate corners are pressed then the door is warped. Installer Duties: It is the installer’s job to ensure that cabinets are installed plumb and level using shims to correct for any out of square walls. Racking occurs when a cabinet is forced out of square by improper installation. If cabinets are not installed properly and become racked then the doors will appear warped. In this case the real problem is incorrect installation and even a replacement door will appear to be warped.

Wood Dust Warning When cutting, sanding, sawing or shaping cabinets or wood products, you are likely to generate wood dust. For your own safety, we recommend that you wear a protective mask to prevent breathing wood dust. We also recommend eye protection during cabinet installation to avoid injury by flying wood chips or sawdust.

Stain

We use three stain options to achieve the highest quality color and coverage. Hand-wiped stains enhance the grain of the wood and create a deep, rich color. Sprayed stains are sprayed on and not hand-wiped. This process is chosen to achieve a more consistent look on tight-grained woods like Maple. Two-step stains are used to attain darker stain colors. With darker stain colors, the end grain of wood may have a slightly darker appearance. Some color variation is to be expected with all stains and is part of the look of natural wood products. Paint (+10%)

Our paint finish is a catalyzed paint applied in a 6-step process to achieve a multi-layer and highly durable finish. After every coat of finish, components pass through a series of hand sanding processes that both refine and enrich the overall look and feel for a superior final product. The final step is a clear coat of conversion varnish which is the same durable Finish Coat used on our stained product. Changes in climate conditions cause all wood products to expand and contract. As a result, painted solid wood components will show finish breaks and/or seam lines on all solid wood joints and panels as the seasons change. To lessen the effects of expansion and contraction, Prairie constructs painted doors and drawer fronts using MDF. Though MDF is more stable than solid wood, hairline cracks, finish breaks and/or seam lines may still occur on painted MDF doors. Face frames are constructed of solid maple; finish breaks and/or seam lines will occur on frame joints. Paint finishes are not recommended for use in high humidity environments. Customers must be educated on the normal characteristics of painted wood finishes as they will not be considered as reasons for product replacement Construction of maple doors and drawer fronts with paint finish will change to MDF. REQUIRED FORM: Specialty Finish Agreement must be completed and submitted with order. Accent Glaze (+6%)

Our Accent Glaze is hand-applied to the profiles and recessed areas of doors, drawer fronts and moldings to accentuate edge profiles. After glaze application a third finish coat is applied to seal in the finish. This technique only affects the recessed areas where the glaze is applied and will not tone the base stain color. Because this glazing technique is hand-applied, it may have variations in appearance due to different levels of glaze coverage. Some feathering in the corners may occur. These characteristics are natural with hand application and are not factory defects. A P-SCD15 door sample is recommended to see the full range of application characteristics.

Unfinished cabinetry is available for No Charge. Cabinet exterior will be unfinished. Interiors, interior accessories and bottoms of wall cabinets will be finished per standard finishing methods. It is the finish coat that protects wood cabinetry from the effects of temperature and humidity variations. Thus, unfinished cabinetry is not warranted for warped doors, drawer fronts and wainscot panels; field applied finishes are also not covered under the warranty. Prairie Cabinetry does not recommend unfinished cabinetry.

Finish Coat

Prairie features a multi-step finish coat finish process that enhances the natural beauty of wood and gives our cabinetry the durability to withstand the elements of everyday life. Each component is hand prepared to ensure the highest quality. Once the cabinet is stained it moves to our state-of-the-art flat line finish system. Flat line application removes the guesswork found in hand spraying and applies each finish coat with precise accuracy. The first coat is an oven-cured conversion varnish, applied to give a superior seal. After hand sanding, a second coat of conversion varnish is applied and oven-cured to create a final product that has both the look of fine furniture and exceptional durability. Sheen level 20.

Prairie’s finish meets or exceeds all standards set by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) and is recommended by the American Woodworking Institute. Prairie’s finish technology and its finish formulation greatly reduce the hazardous pollutants found in the finish process. Our goal is to protect the environment while still achieving the highest possible quality.

Natural wood variations and conditions in the home will affect the final appearance of any wood product. Direct sunlight, temperature, humidity and environmental elements are all factors that contribute to the true color of a finish. Please consider these conditions as your cabinetry ages. Natural Wood Characteristics

The uniqueness of wood is in its variation in color and grain pattern. Just as no two trees are alike, no two pieces of wood are alike. It is important to educate the consumer on each wood’s natural characteristics. Maple is a dense, straight-grained hardwood with uniform coloring. When stained, Maple can have a mottled appearance and small mineral streaks. Maple will age slightly over time. Alder is a hardwood that is lighter in weight and softer than other hardwoods. Alder has a fine, straight grain similar to Cherry and Maple with a uniform honey color. Some tight knots are typically present. Alder stains well across the full color spectrum. NOTE: Rustic Alder veneer will have some repaired knots (3/4” or more in diameter). Knots on veneer door center panels will vary and some panels may not have any knots present. Hickory is a strong hardwood with dramatic color variations and grain patterns. Color can vary from white to deep brown in the same piece of lumber, evening out slightly over time. Hickory will have some knots, mineral streaking, pin holes and burls. Red Oak is known for its strength and stability and has a prominent open grain. Oak ranges in color from white to yellow to reddish brown. Small pin knots and minor mineral streaking are present. Graining may vary from closely knit to a sweeping arch pattern. Rustic is available in Alder, Hickory and Oak. Rustic components are hand selected to have more pronounced variations of their respective natural characteristics. You’ll find greater color variation, more noticeable graining, and additional knots, mineral streaks, burls and pinholes. The level and number of rustic characteristics present on each component will vary. Prairie will not allow any rustic characteristics to affect the structural integrity of the door and will not allow any open knots. Rustic characteristics are not available on face frames, plywood panels, moldings or accents. Availability Clear Rustic

Specialty Finish Agreement Prairie Cabinetry wants you to be fully satisfied with your specialty finished cabinetry. Please read the following description. After all your questions about your specialty finish have been answered initial and sign the agreement below. Your order will not be processed until all required forms are signed and submitted. Paint Paint finishes are uniquely different from stain finishes. Changes in climate conditions cause all wood

products to expand and contract. To lessen the effects of expansion and contraction, my doors and drawer fronts are constructed of MDF. Though MDF is more stable than solid wood, hairline cracks, finish breaks and/or seam lines may still occur on painted MDF panel, stile and rail joints. Face frames are constructed of solid maple; finish breaks and/or seam lines will occur on frame joints. Paint finishes are not recommended for use in high humidity environments. The items listed above are normal characteristics of paint finishes and will not be considered as reasons for product replacement.

Accent Glaze Our Accent Glaze is hand-applied to the profiles and recessed areas of doors, drawer fronts and moldings

to accentuate edge profiles. After glaze application a third finish coat is applied to seal in the finish. This technique only affects the recessed areas where the glaze is applied and will not tone the base stain color. Because this glazing technique is hand-applied, it may have variations in appearance due to different levels of glaze coverage. Some feathering in the corners may occur. These characteristics are natural with hand application and are not factory defects. A P-SCD15 door sample is recommended to see the full range of application characteristics.

Job site must be within a 25 mile radius of the dealer. - Contact Customer Service for job site deliveries outside 25 miles

Accurate map and directions (submit with this form) - Route must be legally accessible by a semi tractor and a 53-foot trailer

Adequate help must be present at job site at time of delivery - Two (2) Person Minimum - Must be capable of unloading cabinetry - The driver will wait no more than 15 minutes to start unloading - If the driver is required to help unload to the ground, extra charges will apply

Dealer representative must be present at time of delivery - If a dealer representative cannot be present, please sign release below

Release I agree to accept cabinets delivered to job site “as is” and release Prairie Cabinetry from liability related to any damage, loss or shortages that may go unnoticed as a result of my not being present at time of delivery.
