Note 1:For axle oil, use only recommended oil as follows.SHELL: DONAX TDMOBILE: MOBILFLUID 424ESSO: TORQUE FLUID 56It is possible to substitute engine oil CLASS-CDSAE30 for axle oil.If noise comes from the brake, it is no problem ofdurability.

Add antifreeze

fl In cold areas when the hydraulic oiltemperature is low, if the steering wheel isturned and the machine is stopped in thatposition, there may be a time lag beforethe machine turns and stops. If this happens, turn the steering wheelslowly to the left and right (repeat for about10 minutes) and the oil inside the steeringvalve will be warmed up.

[ª1]: When working in particularly severeconditions, use a multi-purpose greasecontaining 3 – 5% molybdenum.

[ª2]: For machines equipped with an auto-grease system, if the machine is operatedin temperatures below –20°C, use lithium-based grease No. 0 for the grease.

STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION POWER TRAIN

POWER TRAIN

OUTLINE• The power from engine (16) is transmitted

from the flywheel to damper (15) throughthe ring gear. The damper alleviates the tor-sional vibration caused by the variation ofthe engine torque and transmits the powerto torque converter (11) through upper driveshaft (14). The torque converter converts thedelivered torque according to the variationin load on the oil used as the medium, andtransmits the power to the input shaft oftransmission (10). Then, the engine power istransmitted to steering pump (12), mainpump (13), switch pump (17), and torqueconverter charging pump + PPC pump +brake pump (18) through the pump drivinggear in torque converter (11), thereby driv-ing the pumps.

• In transmission (10), the five hydraulically-operated clutches are operated by the for-ward-reverse spool and the speed changespools in the transmission valves, which arethemselves activated by solenoid valves. Thus, the desired travel speed can be se-lected from among the 3 forward and 3 re-verse gear speeds.

• The output shaft of transmission (10) trans-mits the power to the output shaft of trans-fer (9) through the gear. The power fromthe output shaft of the transfer is transmit-ted to both the front axle (5) and the rearaxle (21).In the front section of the chassis, the poweris transmitted to front axle (5) through centerdrive shaft (7) and front drive shaft (6).In the rear section, the power is transmittedto rear axle (21) through rear drive shaft(24).

• The power transmitted to front axle (5) andrear axle (21) is reduced through pinion andring gears in differential (22) and (1), and istransmitted to the axle shafts.

• The power from the axle shafts is reducedthrough final drive (19) and (3) and trans-mitted to wheel (20) and (4) through theplanetary carrier.
