Thestaffmicrophoneandamplifiershouldbeinstalledonthestaffsideofthecounter.Thecustomerspeakerandmicrophonekitsshouldbeinstalledonthecustomersideofthecounter.
Follow all relevant instructions in the following order:

Installation Instructions
A basic toolkit recommended to install the system will include:
There may be a need for a router when installing the Flush Mounted Kit, and a hacksawfortheBridgeBarKitorSlimlineBridgeBarKit.

1. Placethestaffmicrophoneonthestaffsideofthecountertop,ensuringthatitdoesnotcauseanobstructionandisasclosetostaffaspossible.
2. Placetheamplifierunderthestaffcounter,ensuringthatitwillnotobstructstaffwhentheyaresitting.
3. Markthefourfixingpointsfortheamplifierunderthecounter.4. Drillandfixtheamplifierinplaceusingthesuppliedscrews.5. Usethecablemanagementholeinthecountertorunthestaff
microphonecablebacktotheamplifier.Ifthereisnotalreadyacablemanagementhole,drillinasuitablelocationneartherearofthecounter.
6. Installtheamplifier’spowersupplyclosetoapowersocketoutletusingthesuppliedmountingbracketandfixingscrews.

3. Ifthebridgebarneedstobenarrowed,calculatethewidthrequired (minimum: 450mm) with the following steps:
a. Locatetheallengrubscrewsonthemountingbracketandloosenthemtoallowthebracketstoslidealongthetube.
b. Slidethebracketsinwardsuntilthedesiredwidthisobtained.Ensurethemicrophonestemisanequaldistancefrombothbrackets.
c. Ifnecessary,useahacksawtocutthebridgebartothecounter’srequiredlength.Becarefultoavoidanydamagetowiring.
d. Ensurethebracketsareinthedesiredlocationandre-tightenthegrubscrews.
4. Placethemountingbracketsadjacenttoeithersideofthepass-through.Theyshouldbeapproximately2-3mmawayfromthescreen.
1. Place the bridge bar on the counter top in a central location over the pass-throughtray.
2. Disassemble the speaker pods by undoing the screws and removing the housing.

2. Disassemble the speaker and microphone pods by undoing the screws andremovingthehousing.

6. Fixthespeakerandmicrophonepodstothecounter,andfeedthewiresthroughthecablemanagementholes.
7. Refitthehousingwithpreviouslyremovedscrews.
8. Routeallcablingneatlytotheamplifierlocationonthestaffside.

4. Usearoutertocutouttwoareasfortheflushmountedspeakerand microphonepods,routedtoadepthof1.5mm.
1. Check that there is at least 50mm of free space below the customer side ofthecountertopforthespeakerandmicrophonepods.
2. Ensurethereisaccesstothewiringunderthecounteronceinstalled.
3. Mark the cut-out dimensions in the diagram below onto the counter top twice,adjacenttoeithersideofthepass-throughtray.Therecommendeddistancebetweeneachcut-outmarkingis500mm.

5. Markthefourfixingpointspercutoutanddrilltheholes.

1. Place the bridge bar on the counter top in a central location, positioned overthepass-throughtray.
2. Disassemble the speaker pods by undoing the screws and removing the housing.
3. Place the mounting brackets on the counter top an equal distance to the centreofthepass-throughtray.
4. Place the stainless steel bridge bar strip between the brackets with each endlayingslightlyinsidethebrackets.
5. If the bridge bar needs to be narrowed, use a hacksaw to cut it to the requiredlength.
6. Markthefourfixingpointsandtwocablemanagementholestobedrilled.
7. Ensure there will be access to retrieve the cables and then drill the pilot holesforthefixingscrews.
8. Test the complete assembly by placing it in its intended position, ensuringitsitsflatagainstthesurfaces.

9. Placethemicrophoneassemblyontheglassscreenusingthebridgebarstripasapositioningguide,ensuringthemicrophonestemisvertical.
10. Laythemicrophonecableinthegrooveonthebackofthebridgebarstripandfeeditbacktooneofthebrackets.
11. Carefullyadherethebridgebarstriptothescreenframe,ensuringthemicrophonecablestaysinitsgroove.
12. Feedthewiringthroughthecablemanagementholes.
13. Refitthehousingusingthescrewspreviouslyremoved.
14. Routeallthecablingneatlytotheamplifierlocationonthestaffside.

5. Ensuretherewillbeaccesstoretrievethecablesandthendrilltheholes.
6. Fixthecustomerpodtothecounterandfeedthewiringthroughthecablehole.
7. Refitthehousingusingthescrewspreviouslyremoved.
8. Routeallthecablingneatlytotheamplifierlocationonthestaffside.

b. Checkthecableroutetotheamplifiersituatedunderthecounter.Ensure there is access through the counter top and suitable cable length.Ifneccesary,drillacableholethroughtherearofthecounterorextendcables.
c. Mark2xfixingpointstoattachtheoverheadspeakers.
d. Drillpilotholesandattachthespeakerbracketassemblyusingsuppliedscrews.
e. Routethecablefromthespeakerbacktotheamplifierinaneatandtidyfashion,usingcablecontainmentwhererequired.
f. Repeattheabovestepsonthecustomersideofthecounter.
2. Positionthebridgebarunitonthe customer side of the counter top, in a central location over thepass-throughtray.
3. Ensurethemicrophoneandbridgebarareflatagainstthescreen.
4. Markthe2fixingpointsand1cableholereadyfordrilling.

1. Installtheoverheadspeakers:
a. Findalocationonthestaffsidedirectly above the pass-through tray.Ensurethereissufficientspace and no glass behind the drillinglocation.
5. Drillfixingpointsandacable hole and attach the assembly withthesuppliedscrews.
7. Feedwiringthroughthecableholebacktotheamplifier.
8. Attachthebridgebarcoverusingtheprovidedfixingpointsandscrews,carefullyavoidingdamagetowiring.

Theaerialshouldbefixedunderthedesk-toporcountercentrallyonthecustomer side, one half mounted horizontally under the counter and the other halfmountedvertically,facingthecustomer(asinthefirstscenariobelow).
Position the aerial under the counter using either the provided P-clips oranotherfixingmethodofyourchoice.Seethediagrambelowforrecommendedpositioning.
Ensureallhearingloopsignageisdisplayedclearly.

WhenpoweredandinnormaloperationalmodetheamplifierwilldisplayVolumeInLED1assteadygreen.
WhentheamplifierisswitchedoffusingtheOn/Off button, audio is muted andLEDsarenotilluminated;pressanybuttontoturntheamplifieronagain.
To adjust the staff volume level:• Press and hold the Volume In (+) or (-) buttons to increase or decrease the
level.ThecorrespondingLEDbarwillshowthevolumesetting.To adjust the customer volume level:• Press and hold the Volume Out (+) or (-) buttons to increase or decrease
thelevel.ThecorrespondingLEDbarwillshowthevolumesetting.
Fault Diagnosis LEDs
• Volume In LED 8 will stay red if there is a faultwiththestaffmicrophone.
• Volume Out LED 8 will stay red if there is a faultwiththecustomermicrophone.
• VolumeInLED8willflashredifthereisafaultwiththeloop(i.e.abrokenaerial).
Using the System
For best possible performance:
1. Ensurethecustomerandstaffvolumesareturnedcompletelydown.2. Adjuststaffvolume(VolumeIn)toacomfortablelevel.3. Increasecustomervolume(VolumeOut)untilfeedbackisheard.4. Decreasecustomervolume(VolumeOut)untilfeedbackisjusteliminated.
Once you have followed the above steps:
1. Thestaffmicrophoneisbestpositionednomorethan300mmawayfromthestaffmember.
2. Checktheamplifierisfullyfunctionalbyensuringthered‘fault’lightisNOTdisplaying.
Ifthereisinsufficientvolumeevenafteryouhave adjusted the volume controls, enter engineers mode and raise max volume settings.Exitengineersmodeandrepeatinitialsetup.

Factory Default Settings
Toreturntheamplifierthefactorydefaultsettings:
1. Unplugthepowersupplyandthenreconnectit.2. PresstheOn/OffbuttonandVolumeIn(-)buttontogether,thenrelease.3. The Volume In LED bar will have all LEDs illuminated, while the Volume
OutLEDbarwilldisplaythefirmwarerevisionnumberinafixedpatternofLEDs.Thisindicatesthatdefaultsettingshavebeenrestored.

Symptom Possible Fault Action
There is no power detected through the amplifier (and there is power at the socket).
1) Power jack not plugged in or faulty.
2)Plugfusehasblown.
3) Faultypowersupplyunit.
4)Faultyamplifier.

2)Replacefuse.Ifitblowsagain,replacethepowersupplyunit.

The red LED is illuminated on front panel.

1) Ensure microphone is wired correctlyandfirmlypluggedin. Try alternative microphone to ensure portisworking.
2) Ensure induction loop connector is wiredcorrectlyandfirmlypluggedin.
I can’t hear audio through the induction loop.
1) Induction loop or microphone is disconnected.
2)Looptesterhasafault.
1 ) Check instructions for correct connections and, if possible, check the hearing device with a known workinghearingloop.
2) Ensure loop tester has a new set ofbatteries.
I can hear interference through speakers (buzzing / whistling / hissing).
1) Unscreened or poorly earthed third party equipment is being used incloseproximity.
2)Internalvolumegainsettohigh. 3) Incorrect power supply being used.
1)Switchoffanythirdparty equipment to identify the source of interference.
2)Accesstheamplifierengineersmodetoadjusttheinternalsettings. 3) Ensure that our grounded power supplyunitisconnected.
Amplifier goes into feedback.
