Make sure User Maintenance is filled out completely and correctly. Go to Tools User Maintenance. Fill in fields per instructions below. Then, click on the Save icon. Then, exit Speedi and log back in for the changes to be implemented.

a. User MailID: if you have run Communication Setup, your

mailbox id should be populated here automatically. If it

shows NOMAILID, you will need to run Communication

Setup (see following slide once you complete this slide).

b. User Name: Input your First Name, then Last Name.

c. User Type: Distributor

d. NEMA Trade: This is based off of your zip code. Please

contact your local GE salesperson for your NEMA Trade

code.

e. Phone #/Fax #: Input your phone # and fax #.

f. Dial Comm: Leave blank.

g. Email: Input your email address. This is critical as this is

how GE will contact you in case of questions/issues with

your fast appeals or orders.

h. Job Path: Leave as is unless you want your jobs to be

saved to a different path/file. Note: If you enabled GE

Server Save option, you will not be able to modify this path

(i.e. H:\ or G:\)

i. BOM Path/Drawings Path: Leave as default unless you

want your BOM’s and Drawings saved to a different folder

on your local hard drive.

j. GE Sales Email/GE Ops Email: Contact your local GE

salesperson for these.

k. Address: Input your company name on the first line. Then,

fill in the rest of your company address.

Run Communication SetUp. This will allow you to Send/Receive job files to/from your peers or your GE salesperson, appeal jobs and transmit orders. Go to Tools Communication SetUp. Confirm Install Enterprise is highlighted. Click Next. If Install Enterprise is not selected, that means you have already run Communication Setup, so you can click Cancel and confirm mailbox id is populated on the User Maintenance screen.

You will be prompted to create your Mailbox Id. All three fields are required.

a. NEMA Trade: Input your 4-character NEMA Trade Group (get from your

local GE salesperson)

b. GE Index #: Input your 7-character Customer Index # (get from your

local GE salesperson)

c. Mailbox Id: Enter any 4-character code (Can contain 0-9, A-Z)

Click Next.

Click Finish to finish the Communication Setup assuming successful.

Copy down the Mailbox ID from this screen which you will need to

confirm on the User Maintenance screen (i.e. User MailID field). If it was

not successful, try again.

Click Finish.

Go to Tools User Maintenance. Confirm User MailID field matches the

Mailbox ID you copied down from previous slide. If they do not match,

then update the User MailID here with the Mailbox ID you copied down

from previous slide. Then, Save.

Just like you do today, you can save your jobs to your local hard drive. By default, Speedi will save your jobs to your local job path (i.e. C:\SPDWIN\JOB). You can change this default path to a different local path by clicking on the box with the 3 dots to the right of the Job Path field.

Instead of saving jobs to your local drive, you can speed up your program by saving your jobs to the GE Server. This will also allow you to access/edit your jobs from any computer. To save your jobs to the GE Server, go to Tools Enable GE Server Save. You will see 2 options:

1.Individual

• Save your jobs to the GE Server and only you will have access to these jobs.

2.Group Share

• Save your jobs to the GE Server and you AND all other members assigned to the same group as you will have access to these jobs.

• This option will only be enabled if you are assigned to a Group. To join a Group, please contact your local GE Salesperson. Note: You can only be assigned to 1 group.

Select Individual option and Click “Ok”.

Close any open job. Go to Tools Enable GE Server Save.

Click Yes.

Wait for Speedi to close. Then, log back in.

Upload Job Files from Local Machine to GE Server In order to access an existing job, you will need to upload it from your Local Machine to the GE Server. Go to Tools Upload/Download Jobs. Highlight the job in the left-hand column and then click on the right arrows to upload it to the GE Server. It will copy/paste from your local machine (local job path displayed above column) to the GE Server. The job file in the GE server is now the master where you will save your changes to. Note that you can select multiple jobs at a time using the Ctrl or Shift key. You can either upload your existing jobs one-by-one as needed or you can do a mass upload at one time. Before doing a mass upload, we recommend that you clean up your C:\SPDWIN\JOB folder (i.e. just keep the prior year’s worth of jobs in this folder) . We also recommend doing this first upload in smaller groups vs. highlighting all jobs at once. Use the Filter at the top to display a smaller subset of your jobs.

Note: if you need to open a job file emailed to you, then you’ll need to save the attachment to your

local folder (i.e. C:\SPDWIN\JOB), then go to Upload/Download Jobs and highlight the job file in the

left-hand column and click on the right arrows to upload it from your Local to the GE Server.

Download Job Files from GE Server to Local Machine

To move a copy of your job file to your local hard drive, you will need to download the job file from the GE Server to your Local Machine. Just highlight the job in the right-hand column and then click on the left arrows to download it to your local machine. It will copy/paste from the GE Server to your local machine.

Select Group Share option and Click “Ok”

Group Share

Close any open jobs. Go to Tools Enable GE Server Save.

Click Yes.

Wait for Speedi to close. Then, log back in.

Note: if you were already saving to the GE Server, you will need to first Disable GE Server Save, then Enable GE Server Save again.

Uploading Job Files to GE Server (Group Share) In order to access an existing job, you will need to copy it from your Local Machine or from your earlier Individual GE Server space to the GE Group Share Server space. Just highlight the job in the left-hand column and then click on the right arrows to upload it to the GE Server. It will copy/paste from your local machine (local job path displayed above column) or from your Individual GE Server space to the GE Server (Group Share) space. The job file in the Group Share (i.e. G drive) is now the master where you will save your changes to.

C:\SPDWIN\JOB), then go to Upload/Download Jobs and highlight the job file in the

left-hand column and click on the right arrows to upload it to the GE Server (Group Share).

• User A & User B are assigned to the same group and both have enabled GE Server Save – Group Share. (Note: both

users download DTO for the same index # and have the same office/district/region codes in User Maintenance screen.)

• User A submits Fast Appeal for Prop# TEST. • User A receives imports Quote Authorization for Prop#

TEST. User A closes the prop. • User B opens Prop# TEST, requests Value Contract # and

transmits order.

Fast Appeal/PDQ Bonus – Advantage of Group Share

If you prefer to use subfolders, you still can, even on the GE Server. To create a subfolder on the GE Server, just go to File Open Job. Then, click on the Create New Folder icon. Then, create your subfolders. When you want to upload to this

subfolder or download from this subfolder, just change the GE Server Job Path displayed above the GE Server column.

Once you have uploaded jobs to the GE Server, the Job Explorer (left-hand column) will populate with these jobs and all newly created jobs will display here once saved. You can change the Job Explorer view via View Full file folder tree or Classic speedi-win view. Classic speedi-win view will sort your quotes by job name/Prop. # numerically & alphabetically. To view full Job Name and Prop #, just drag the column to the right or left. If not all jobs are displayed as expected, see next slide.

Go to Tools Customize Job Explorer. Then, select time period of jobs to display in the Job Explorer. Then, if you prefer to sort by Job Name vs. Prop. #, check “Sort By Job Name”. Click OK. Note: If you want to also group by date (i.e. month), make your selections in the Group section.

To save a report such as a BOM, Drawings or Online Spec Sheets to PDF/Word/Excel, Speedi will default to your local SPDWIN\FILES folder. If you wish to save your reports to a different folder on your hard drive, you can. Just update the default for the BOM Path and Drawings Path by clicking on the box with the 3 dots to the right of the BOM Path field and Drawings Path field. Note: You can not save reports to the GE Server, only jobs.

You can save time by creating a shortcut on your desktop to this BOM Path or Drawings Path. Go to the folder where your Speedi BOMs/drawings are currently stored (i.e. C:\SPDWIN\FILES). Right click on the this folder. Select Create Shortcut. Drag or copy/paste the newly created shortcut folder to the desktop. Right click on this new folder on your desktop to rename it.
