    itinerary

    includes:

    day 1

     Transfer to the railway station for the train to Lucknow, lunch atthe hotel on check-in. This afternoon enjoy a tour of the city,which is known for its literature, music, dance and arts and

    crafts. This evening we have a tour of some of Lucknow’straditional market eateries. Dinner will follow at the hotel.Overnight stay: Clarks Avadh Hotel, Lucknow or similar. (B, L, D)

    day 3

     An early morning today, but definitely worth it as you watch the sunriseover the Taj Mahal. Return to the hotel for breakfast before setting off tovisit Agra Fort. Lunch today is at a specialty restaurant,  'Peshawari', theyspecialise in 'North West Frontier cuisine, and eating by hand is very muchencouraged! This afternoon you will have a cooking class back at yourhotel prior to dinner. (B, L, D)

    day 5

    This morning drive to the ancient capital of Amer to see the Amber Fort,situated on a ridge above Jaipur city. You will also have visits to theAnokhi and City Palace Museums. We have a treat for you today, as you

    will be taught the traditional methods of sari and turban tying! Learnmore about Indian cuisine this afternoon at a private cooking

    demonstration before dining with a Jaipur Royal family. (B, L, D) 

    day 7

    After breakfast, free time before your transfer to the airport for your

    flight home (B)

    Take a guided city tour of the Old City of ‘Shahjahanabad’, included isa rickshaw ride to the largest mosque in Asia, Jama Masjid. A quick visitto the famous Paranthe Wali Gali – then we tour Khari Baoli – Asia’slargest wholesale spice market. Enjoy a cooking demonstration followed

    by lunch before touring New Delhi. Dinner tonight is at Spice Route, ithas been voted one of the top ten restaurants in the world by CondeNast Traveller. (B, L, D)

    day 2

    This morning you will see a cooking demonstration followed by lunch.

    Depart Lucknow and travel by train to Agra. Known by all as the home of theTaj Mahal, the city is still associated with the Mughuls who were greatbuilders and you will see this by the architecture of the buildings as you pass

    by. Food was also their passion and you will note that the cuisine will rangefrom mild to spicy, with specialities in barbeque, curries and bread. Twonight stay: Trident Hotel, Agra or similar. (B, L, D)

    day 4

    After breakfast depart for the pink city of Jaipur, visiting the abandoned

    capital of Fatehpur Sikri. Two night stay: Trident Hotel, Jaipur or similar. (B,L, D)

    day 6

    After breakfast enjoy a tour of the Pink City, Jaipur and see the City Palace

    Museum with a vast collection of Rajasthani costumes and armoury ofMughals and Rajputs and many more antiques and artefacts. Move onto the Jantar Mantar Observatory built in the 18th century. Hold onto your seats for

    a rickshaw ride into the old city's bazaar and then onto the Palace of Winds.Before lunch enjoy a cooking demonstration before observing the localcraftspeople in the markets and refuelling at the Ghee Walon ka Rasta street

    market. Farewell dinner at the hotel. (B, L, D)

    day 8

    DepartBrisbane and arrive into New Delhi International Airport andtransfer to your hotel to check in. Two night stay: Double Tree byHilton, Delhi or similar. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight with yourfellow travellers. (D)

    day  10 Today we will arrive into Brisbane and our unfor-gettableculinary experience will come to an end.
