Many years of in-field experience have shown the necessity of more and more efficient controls on the contamination level of hydraulic fluids and fuels.

With this goal uppermost in its mind, and thanks to sophisticated design patterns and the use of cutting-edge materials and technologies, FAI FILTRI has engineered a complete series of spin-on filters , in different models and sizes, designed to meet a wide array of filtration and operating requirements, in order to allow a more effective control of contamination levels in hydraulic, lubricating, engine circuits, etc.

CS-CTT spin-on cartridges are engineered to provide an efficient solution to filtration problems offering their highest performances when fitted into inlet, return and exhaust lines of mobile machineries (such as earthworks machines, agricultural machines, industrial vehicles, compressors, hydraulic systems) with pressure peaks up to 12 bar. The fundamental characteristic of these elements is the possibility, for any clogged filter, to be easily replaced, by a quick and clean procedure, condition that has to be considered of great importance in working contexts where highly deteriorated environmental conditions usually occur.

They can support flow rates up to 270 l/min and each element can be equipped with a by-pass valve and an anti-emptying membrane (serie CTT).

FAI Filtri spin-on cartridges, equipped with new-generation “A” filtering media, can grant high standards of performance even in the hardest conditions.

“A” type elements with absolute filtration power of 3, 6, 10, 25 micron (βx ≥ 200), are formed by inorganic impregnated and resin bonded inert micro-fibers, supported upstream and downstream. The result is a very compact filtering core which ensures the resistance of the media itself to deformation, distortion and strain ,preventing any contaminants to get released, thus improving filtering performances and allowing contaminants to accumulate efficiently, also in the event of phenomena such as high differential pressure and water hammering derived from cold starts and discharge flow rates.

The above mentioned features make the FAI FILTRI spin-on filters consistent with the use of hydraulic, lubricating oils, fuels, glycol water, emulsions and most synthetic fluids.

PPRREESSSSUURREE DDRROOPP Curves are applicable to mineral oil with a dynamic viscosity of 30 mm2/sec. (cSt). ΔP changes along with the values of dynamic viscosity according to the following formulas:

1 Dynamic viscosity variations ≤5

2 Dynamic viscosity variations >5

In both formulas ΔP stands for the pressure loss calculated on the curves, v stands for the reference dynamic viscosity (30 mm2/sec); ΔP1 is the pressure loss to be calculated and v1 stands for the actual dynamic viscosity of the tested fluid.

FCS series: in line filters with spin-on cartridges (SPIN-ON) with flow rates from 10 lt/min up to 360 lt/min and operating pressure up to 12 bar.

FAI Filtri technical equipe paid special attention to the engineering and manufacturing processes of these series during both the research stage and the production one .

The research and experimentation both on the filtering media and on the mechanical parts of the FCS series was aimed to lower pressure losses, increase the filtration efficiency and improve the performances on the side of the retention of contaminants.

This was made in order to match the new, sophisticated technological exigencies of the oleodynamics components and of the hydrostatic drives.

FCS was engineered to be assembled specifically both onto return lines and on the suction of hydraulic, lubricating plants and so on... They are particularly suitable for earthworks machines, agricultural machines, industrial vehicles and generally speaking movable machineries.

The fundamental characteristic of FCS filters is the possibility for old cartridges to be replaced by the new ones by a quick and clean procedure which doesn’t require any particular equipment and can be carried out in any possible operational context

Specifically, these new complete filters, equipped with new-generation “A” filtering media, can grant very high standards of performance even in the hardest conditions.

“A” type elements with absolute filtration power of 3, 6, 10, 25 micron (βx ≥ 200), are formed by inorganic impregnated and resin bonded inert micro-fibers, supported upstream and downstream. The above mentioned characteristics make FAIFILTRI FCS complete filters consistent with the use of hydraulic, lubricating oils, fuels, glycol water, emulsions and most synthetic fluids.

PPRREESSSSUURREE DDRROOPP Curves are calculated in accordance with ISO 3968 and are valid for clean filtering elements. ΔP changes along with the density in presence of an eddy flow, and along with the dynamic viscosity in presence of a laminar flux. Curves are valid for mineral oils with a density of 0,86 Kg/dm3 and a dynamic viscosity of 30 mm2/sec (cSt). When choosing the filtering medium consider the pressure losses deriving from the flow rate: Between 0,05 e 0,1 bar for suction line Up to 0,3÷0,5 bar for filters fitted on return line (The total pressure drop is to be calculated by adding up the spin-on filter pressure drop.

The CSG series filtering cartridges, featuring standard American design and flanging (interchangeable with the main manufacturers of American filters), give their best performances when fitted into hydraulic systems, earthworks machineries, agricultural machines and generally speaking into any movable/ mobile machines with pressure peaks up to 12 bar.

The fundamental characteristic of these elements is the possibility, for any clogged filter, to be easily replaced, by a quick and clean procedure, condition that has to be considered of great importance in

working contexts where highly deteriorated environmental conditions usually occur.

They can support flow rates up to 250 l/min.; each element can be equipped with a by-pass valve.

Specifically, FAI Filtri spin-on cartridges, equipped with new-generation “AD” filtering media, can grant very high standards of performance even in the hardest conditions.

Curves are calculated in accordance with ISO 3968 and are valid for clean filtering elements. ΔP changes along with the density in presence of an eddy flow, and along with the dynamic viscosity in presence of a laminar flux. Curves are valid for mineral oils with a density of 0,86 Kg/dm3 and a dynamic viscosity of 30 mm2/sec (cSt). When choosing the filtering medium consider the pressure losses deriving from the flow rate : Up to 0,3÷0,5 bar for filters fitted on the return line Up to 1÷1,5 bar for filters fitted on the pressure line (The total pressure drop is to be calculated by adding up the spin-on filter pressure drop. See CSD catalogue)

PRESSURE DROP II Curves are applicable to mineral oil with a dynamic viscosity of 30 mm2/sec. (cSt). ΔP changes along with the values of dynamic viscosity according to the following formulas: Dynamic viscosity variations ≤5 Dynamic viscosity variations >5 In both formulas ΔP stands for the pressure drop calculated on the curves, v stands for the reference dynamic viscosità (30 mm²/sec); ΔP1 is the pressure drop to be calculated and v1 stands for the actual dynamic viscosity of the tested fluid. For the best setting of the filter durino the intale phase it is advisable not to exceed the flux recommended speed 1m/sec. These filters have been technically engineered to support pressure losses up to 0,02 bar.
