A GREAT TIME IS PAR FOR THE COURSE!Come join us for an arctic golf experience, Akron Rotary’s 32nd annual Chili Open Golf Classic! It is one of the most unique challenges for either an extreme sports enthusiast, or a hobbyist golfer. Attendees will enjoy a meal that includes Whitey’s Premium Chili along with arctic beverages.

THE ARCTIC COURSEOn Saturday, February 5, 2022, polar bear golfers will converge on the scenic Hale Farm and Village in Bath, Ohio. The grounds of this historic location will be transformed into multiple golf courses with nine holes each. Hole distances will range from 65 to 125 yards. Golfers will be challenged to drive shots across tundra and putt balls laden with ice. There will be prizes for the closest-to-the pin and the hole-in-one contests.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRINGYou’ll want to dress appropriately for the day’s weather conditions. Extra golf balls are a good idea - we recommend orange. Bring as many golf clubs as you like. Chili Open golfers prefer irons ranging from seven to wedge and a putter. Golf bags are optional.

YOUR SUPPORTSince 1924, Rotary Camp has been a viable resource for the Akron community, in providing campers with the opportunities to experience traditional camping activities, develop friendships, learn life skills and create memories that will last a lifetime. Your partnership will assist in helping to send children and adults with special needs to summer day and overnight camps as well as year round respite programs. At Rotary Camp, no child is ever turned away for an inability to pay!

About Akron Rotary CampAkron Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs was founded in 1924 to meet the needs of children with disabilities and their families. While at camp, children with polio were able to participate in activities that helped build their self-esteem and physical endurance.

Today, the mission of serving children and families is still very much alive in all of our programs. For staff, it’s more than the summer experience or respite weekends, it’s about doing what is right for our campers and their families. We collaborate with parents, organizations and agencies to meet the needs of individual campers, while at camp and in the community.
